Just activated my new phone and am getting used to it. But. The fade in sounds for alarm/ringer is making me nuts. Is there a way to not have it fade in and have just full-on sound at the start? I can't find anything in settings.

Is that the alarm found in the default 'Clock' app? If so, I just checked mine and, like you, did not see anything in its settings to adjust whether it fades in. Maybe try a few other alarm apps?
It's the ringer too. I have it on vibrate so I feel it before I hear it. Silly phone 
I've never heard/felt my phone ring! That's because--as I've always lamented around these parts--I don't use my cell phone as a phone, at least not at home, because I don't get a usable signal! I have found a lot complaints/discussions about it but no solutions. It's either a bug or on purpose.
It's not the end of the world of course, it just makes me a bit crazy (watch it now!).
