Help How to find out what's eating the battery?

On my LG L90, sometimes a 100% charge will last just 48 hours idle, while at other times it will last 6 days idle.

After the most recent instance of short battery life, I rebooted the phone, and it seems the battery has lasted a lot longer.

I rarely use any apps on the phone. The last time it lasted 48 hours, the battery was draining at a steady fast rate. I checked task manager and made sure nothing was running. Nothing out of the ordinary was running in the background.

Is there something more detailed than android's own battery monitor to tell me why my battery sometimes drains faster than usual?

thanks. I just learned what wakelocks are.

Must have been a wakelock bug during that 48hour battery drain instance.

I installed gsam, and the processes with the most wakelocks are:

combined app wakelocks
qpnp soc wake
qpnp vadc-
qcom rx wakelock
alarm
charger monitor

well I uninstalled gsam. I don't have root access, so I don't have specific app wakelock details.
The kernel wakelock info doesn't seem very useful.
It would appear the only thing I can do is reboot the phone if I notice the battery draining fast.
