Root ZTE Warp Sync - All Things Root Guide

Honestly? I'm not usually the biggest fan of Dolby as their effects were usually no better than others, but was completely blown away by this one!
would you say it's "Better" then V4A? well once root is achieved i will probably get this phone and mess with both

how good is the Dolby Digital Plus? does it work with Headphones or the speaker or both? and does it come with an equalizer/right to left sound fix?

The dobly mostly makes the music pop out on the speakers it s the best I have ever heard on any phone. However, like all digital devices the headphone quality is mostly very good. If the standard quality is a 7 for headphones then the dobly only adds about + .5 (7.5) at best.

I have never heard better cell phone speakers!

Actually... I'm looking into V4A as a plan.B for "just in case", but I'm trying to port Dolby.apk with SuperR's help to the Warp4G for my JollyRoger_4G ROM

Also based on my limited programing experience, Dobly utilizes the speakers dynamic dimensions output. If you port the dobly from the sync to another type of speaker you probably have a 12% chance of success. The decimal translation will have to be implied before exporting the .apk

Finally if you want to extract the apk of any app just use sd maid. However your still going to need to create the necessary system extensions for a proper install if the apk depends on them.

Like I was saying the NanDL for firefox does connect to our phone in download mode. Someone will need the get boot.img that SuperR made. Make a backup of your boot.img then flash the edited one. If we have a compatible recovery like clockwork or TWRP we can flash that too. Should be able to get to fastboot after flashing the boot.img. From what I heard these phones have an unlocked boot loader but the boot.img is what is holding us up. I have had a bit of experience flashing and modding phones. That is what pisses me off, between me and my wife we have had 17 or so android phones and this is the only one I haven't been able to root. I even rooted an older ZTE I had. I don't have the time to test this method, but should work fine as long as you have a backup of your files.

Also: I dont know but if the other phone you are looking at has the same speaker hardware then your 90% done with sd mail. Just use a sync pc emulator (from where I dont know) and use dobly then track the files being used in RAM. That should narrow your list of files and directories needed to be registered in andriod system registry.

My programming experience is limited to Basic, C++, and a little JAVA (I am not too good with the newer stuff). Send me the image and instructions. I will see what I can do.

If someone can grab a backup of the existing boot.img the chances of success with my modified boot.img would be much higher. I guessed on the entire ramdisk since I was unable to obtain the stock boot.img.

Basically flashing the files like on this site https://sites.google.com/site/zteopenfirmware/download-mode . Not much different than using Kies for Samsung or any other devices. Of course different than the instructions you are only concerned with the boot.img and not the other files. I don't know if the boot.img needs to be in a zip file or if it can be opened with the program as is. But please, use ADB and pull your boot.img or any other files first to have a backup. I am not sure of the steps to back them up at the moment but I am assuming it was done before to give SuperR a copy.

Oh ok. I didn't realize you didn't have it. Thanks for chiming in. I am heading to work for a good 12 hours but hopefully someone can help.

The thing is, I am not familiar with NanDL. Since the phone is not rooted, adb is not able to be used to pull the boot.ing. Can NanDL pull or just push?

@JAWheat411 Just downloaded the firmware file from the link you provided, and it is standard img so if this app really works with the sync it will probably flash a new boot.img just fine. We really need to figure out how to get the stock boot.img first or someone will almost certainly end up with a brick.

So until we get the stock boot.img, we are no further than before unfortunately.

We should be able to pull it without root correct? I know I have done it many times before but couldn't remember if root was required.

I don't know of a single way to pull the boot.img without root :(

maybe we can find a developer site to get a sync emulated on pc. Then it just a matter of extracting files to find the boot.img.

It has to be out there somewhere. Developers get that stuff from manufacturers for free all the time,

Wooww!! Tried V4A (Other phone) and it blows DSPmanager outta the water. Didn't gimme too much crap about setting in system, also wrote it's own build.prop inserts... Pretty nice, LOTS of options & seems to play quite well with others (media players)
