Root [MetroPCS] Tethering for MPCS.F6....!!! All Roms **VIDEO for stock only** UPDATED 12-02-14

Okay.. sir, are you listening to me?
Tonigh is gona be just like last night, i feel.
Edit i accidentally posted this without finishing.
I accidently posted that without finishing.

This is what's going on, and i have screen shots. please help me . I am new to this stuff so i really dont understand alot of this technical stuff.

Ok. The hostapd is showing again in the task manager (red x. and i never got it to have a white x, which i dont mind killing the task every time i start tether)

But this is the problem:
I hit "kill"
And it is still there(!) in the tasks.
No matter how many times i press kill. My tether wont work.
And last night it got to the point that it wont show up in the tasks at all, and the tether wouldnt work. (Neither the stock paid wifi app, or wifi tether app) which my regular wifi should work, because i recently paid my bill and should have 2.5g of wifi data

Here are my pics it shows hostapd still there after i kill.

And when i was trying to long press the red x last night, i was unsuccessful because hostapd keeps jumping around in the task manager.

Just saying.
Im not too worried about giving it a white x just to not to have to kill it every time.

I do now see that hostapd will disappear from the list when i hit the "excluded" button at the bottom, but no matter what, it WONT KILL. I am getting frustrated. I even hit pause at the top and tried long pressing the red x. AND IT DOES NOTHING. It seems there is nothing i can do to kill it. Please help. Tell me step by step what to do if you can please. Wtf my wifi completley broke????

Fixed it. hostapd wouldnt kill i think because wifi tether needed to have white x. Im pretty sure you told me make it red though.

Its back to not killing again.
I tinker around and it eventualy kills. I dont know whats making it kill or not kill,

Ok... It soonest u see it press the x make it white... The wifi.tether need to be red.. Even if u kill it won't go away... Cus its need it for the wifi.tether to transmit... U need to kill it just to b able to connect. Watch the video... It might help

What x? On hostapd? Does not turn white..

Anyway i still havent found that wifi.tether dsmask thing you mentioned.
You said make it red x or something.
What will that do for me? Like just in general why the dmask thing?

Don't knw what to say i have exhausted all my ifo... I told you to make wifitether.dnsmask on because thats ur "camouflage"...
For the mtu u can try 2000 but u most change ur p2p0... And ur rmnet0

Where exactly do i find this"wifi.tether dnsmask"??

Edit:
Think i found it. Its a long extension, doesnt even say system in it though. Something like com.google.code.wifi.tether.bin.dnsmasq ---is that it? And yea it has red x.

And ok i think i understand everything else..
This is the one thing i still dont know.
The hostapd task will still not have white X. No matter what i try.(!) What does doing that do anyway, just make me not have to kill hostapd every time?

I have been tethering to my xbox one for quite awhile using this method but my nat type is moderate and it doesn't load any pictures..

however.. when i use hotspot shield along with the port forwarding app from the playstore i believe i obtained an open nat once. (which normally doesn't work when tethering by itself)

With hotspot shield on bad side is none of my friends can hear me when im in party chat. My xbox mtu also drops to like 1359 with a 1% packet lost. Tried using mtu app that was mention on here but it doesn't work using the options that was suggested but with hola the mtu is 1500 but 100% packet loss.

So i was just wondering if theres another Vpn app that functions much better.. i been doing alot of diggin and i feel like im really close.

Try changing ur DNS in 3cTools ( Networ Manager/DNS/ dns1-208.67.222.222 / dns2- 208.67.220.220 ) turn on .. Or init.d...
those are the dns fron OpenDns webServer (VPN)

Another thing... When u change ur MTU in rmnet0 to 1500 .. You need to change ur wlan0 to 2000 (default is 1500 ) but when the package drops it will only b the empty ones... That should work too

When u connect ur device to the tether... On ur device change settings of the wifi click on it modify network. Check show advance options *IP Settings change to static. Scroll down change ur dns 1/2 to the ones i post it

Okay i've done it.. but when i do a detail network statistics still my mtu is stuck at 1440.. i notice my latency also went up abit.. is there any way to default it..

Also thank you for the quick response i really appreciate it.

U would have to find how to change console's MTU default. Not good on that but lets past through the glass first.. Then we past through the concrete.

Ip its fine like that unless u are trying to make a workstation or u have a server with routers ...

No im not lol just trying to get my xbox mtu up.. also am suppose to do all this with vpn active?
Well this are different methods if u are connected to ur ph wifi hotspot ( tethering) + vpn + dns resetting you are interfering ur VPN connection. Ur signal ( connection ) its allover... And does not now what to do. If u using ur vpn to redirect ur data. U should stick with that vpn should give u a better mtu packets. Depending if u are using free or paid. If u are using wifi with dns redirecting ur connection should be in one line. If u are using MTUapp you should tweak ur rmnet0 n your wland0 settings... It would not stick for ever u would have to set it up every time u connect cus its need to be modified in kernel n .rc scripts settings frameworks etc.. So every time u lose conection because radio signal or phone call in ur devive (ph) you would have to start changes .

So far it has worked for me when i connect my server n my macpro n mac devices plus y kids tablets. I have to say that my signal its pretty good cus im located closed to a tower . i do have some issues when signals are weak...

Thanks for clarifying that for me much appreciated.. at the moment im just tethering from my phone to my console thats all.

I've been able to play multiplayer pretty easily with the majority of the games i own.. but the game called "Destiny" doesn't work with my regular tethering.

I thought if adjusted the mtu it might make a change.. idk im not very knowledge in these aspect. But with vpn and port forwards app i was able to connect but with a low mtu.

I knw even u use a free VPN they still will throttle ur data connection. That the way they keep their business alive.... You still can dig.in in how to change ur console mtu size... I knw xbx its made by widows... And when there its a will ... It most be a way.. Or something like that... LOL... Im not to savvy with game console.. Or better saying no interest in me for it... After Coleco, Atari, Simon, Sega genesis, Nintendo which is the one i hav ... I lost track of it.... Jajajaaj now u knw how backed up im on that... Anyways.. For any other help hit me up.
