Accessories Got an HTC 1500mah battery today.

The TP2 says "Li-ion" whereas the DI says "Li-ion Polymer". I was under the impression that most cell phone batteries are polymer since they started exploding (as well as many laptop cells).

LiPoly lasts much longer in terms of service life and is much easier to get higher energy density for amount of space used. They're possibly more dangerous than standard LION though.

Since there aren't that many sources to get LiPoly, I would imagine they're a higher quality than LION which has a much wider gamut of sources.

If the HTC TP2 and Eris battery both work in the Incredible, what's the difference between these two batteries aside from the model numbers? Will either work in the Incredible? Not that they are much different in price anyway.

size, look at the dimensions on both of those pages, the Touch battery is a little thicker....I think the Eris has a little more internal free space than the incredible, the incredible is packed full.

OK, The TP2 battery I got for $16.99 is awesome!
It is not a cheap knock-off as I have gotten great life out of it today.
The difference is so large that I am convinced that there must be something wrong with the stock 1300 batteries..

Give us some stats please.

Give us some stats please.

I will report some stats back this weekend when I do some actual benchmarking. (Please see Seidio vs TP2 1500 thread). But as of today I am at 15% (10 PM CST) after a long day plus 1.5 hours streaming BBC on EVDO. The red battery is at 14% when I get off of work (4:30 PM CST) with no real use.... Just seems crazy...

I got a 1500 today and charged it up. Even at the initial charge, I noticed significantly improved battery life.

I'm getting significantly improved battery life too - more than I should actually.

At first I was attributing it to the "new phone wearing off syndrome", but that's not the case as I've been hammering this battery with wifi, gps, bluetooth, voice calls, camera, etc.

The difference is so pronounced with the TP2 battery vs. the DI battery that it's made me start to wonder if the DI battery doesn't actually put out the 1300ma it's rated for.

Also, to clear up some misinformation floating around, ALL cell phone batteries on modern phones are Lithium Polymer. Lithium Polymer is the same chemistry as lithium ion, but uses a slightly different construction where the lithium metal is stacked in plates on top of each other with a polymer gel, instead of rolled up in a tube.

So would you guys agree that the 1500 mAh TP2 battery is more worth it than the 1750 Seidio battery simply because it's half the price and has roughly equal battery life increase? Well I guess most of you aren't gonna get both batteries to compare so maybe this is a dumb question to ask ;)

Does the 1500 mAh TP2 battery require a diff. battery door or will it fit nicely into the Incredible?

Thanks for the link. Just ordered one.
Price is right and free shipping sealed the deal.

I thought I remember reading that this particular battery was a different size and didn't fit the Incredible. Am I wrong?

Interested in hearing more on this as well. Not super happy with batter life so far, as it's been stated in some other threads. Thanks

he RHOD160 battery (stock TP2 battery) is slightly physically bigger than the stock DI battery but DOES fit and DOES NOT require a new back cover.

The TP2 1500MA battery 100% works with our phones and provides a very nice bump over the stock battery in terms of battery life.

anyone agree?? I would much rather spend less and get near the same results...
