Android apps you would like to see developed

Actually, I just started looking into the SDK. If some of you have some simple ideas, I might try my hand at creating some apps.

an app that doesn't suck down the battery but allows me to set a audible and repeating reminder from my calendar on my Mac (google calendar synced) and have it actually remind me on my phone so I stop missing meetings etc... ie it why can't the stock calendar app automatically inherit reminders and actually remind me

(fyi currently still on an eris waiting incredible to be in stock locally again)

what about an "android addict" type application. One that keeps track of what you use your android phone for? Like total awake time, total time used writing emails, total time used writing texts, etc?

I figure it is an easy app to write, I just dont have the time to really dig through the API. Essentially get the processes running that run as "com.android.*", get the process id, and snag the cpu time of that process. Make a cute GUI and backup the data to a text fine and voila. Anyone ?

Im tempted but I code all day at work that I just dont have the will haha.

Better Facebook, cheaper and better doodle jump and tap tap revenge

Good idea! I really like my iPod Touch facebook app. The FB app on Android needs some tweeking. IT needs to be customizable like on Apple, and have "events/birthdays" on its main screen.

Also, ESPN mobile. Would love that app!
And, for us gay ppl...grindr

There may already be a thread like this, but I haven't run across one so I figured I would start one up. Who knows, maybe some developers will run across this and some of our ideas will turn in to applications.

To start off the list here are a couple I have been thinking I would like to see:

- Yahoo Fantasy Baseball - an application that allows you to adjust your roster and see your live team statistics on your Android phone

- Sleep Sound App - For those nights where you are in a hotel and need to drown out some noise or just want a calming sound to go to sleep to. The application would play music much like the sleep noise machines you can buy. For example it could play the sound of rain, waves crashing against the shore or rainforest sounds. It would have a sleep timer as well.

What are some on your wish list?

A Yahoo Fantasy Baseball app would be cool!!

A Kindle app would be cool! I haven't found a book reader I like for my Incredible, and already have Kindle apps on my PC and Netbook!

ESPN ScoreScenter and ESPN Fantasy Football 2010.

It is shocking to me that ESPN hasn't gotten into Android yet. The last I heard is that they haven't even started developing Apps for Android and were working on Blackberry Apps.

When the Dell Mini 5 is released, it will have a Kindle app. I'm hoping that the app will also be released to the Android Market so that all Android users can have it.

ESPN Radio - DroidESPN used to be available but is no longer.
LoseIt! - iPhone app to help you track calories, android just doesn't have anything as robust and easy to use yet. Hopefully a droid version will come out.
Fieldrunners - I use to play the hell out of this game. Other tower defense games just don't have the same level of polish this game has.

This. I hate having to hold the power button for silent mode/vibrate. Also, LED flashlight that works on incredible.

1. Lockbot will do this. I have been using it for a bit and it works 98% of the time. Every once and a while, I have to hit it a few times before it registers, but, other than that, it works pretty well. You can also change your lock screen, so that's an additional bonus.

2. Beautiful Widgets comes with toggles for silent and for vibrate, so hitting the power button or volume rocker would not be necessary.

Apps I would like to see:

An app for tee times. Rather than using the browser on the phone to navigate to the courses site and book a tee time, just open the app, find the course and book it right from there.

Also, flashlight for the LED's. I think this is one that everybody wants.

I figure I'll be getting an Inc. in July. It will be my first smart phone.
I dont know if the phone can do it or there is an app that can do this, but I would like to have a selective ring. Where it will only ring when certain numbers call. Ex: I'm out of town for work and I only have 10 hours between shifts to get any sleep. I only want my wife to be able to ring. Everything else goes to voice mail.

Google Voice.

You could request an invite now and use it now and even if you switch cell phones you can update and always have same google number.

Way better at screening and modifying calls.

AndroidMe.... like MobleMe only made for Android.
I still haven't found a good clean interface for syncing my Outlook and my DI.:(

Love the phone!!:D

Hello, i bought the incredible a couple of days ago, and what broke ny heart is that you cant increase fonts, i am vision impaired and looking through a magnifying glass as i cant see anything...so if no app. comes out i will have to return this beauty in 27 days :(

I'm a wildland firefighter and would love to see a ANDROID version of the iphone's wildland tool kit.

I emailed to orginal creator and he said he didn't have the time to put it together.

How about an app to turn our screens on and off when you put it in and out of the holster. A lot of these have a magnet. Can the magnetometer detect this? Just a thought.
