Help List Activity to a text

Hello everyone, I think this is where I should be asking this question. Anyway I had a question about list activities. I want everything in the list to be clickable and once clicked pulls up a text box of information or detail. Would I have to create new activities for every single object in my list?
Like say I had a list of people
Bob
Lisa
Sally

and once their name is selected I want it to pull up basic text information. Would I just state on the Onclick to create a new activity with just that information? Or is there a better dynamic way to do this? I don't mean like a toast but maybe some sort of pop up feature?
