My call logs and camera pic recently taken are automatically deleted why?

can you rule out someone else getting ahold of the phone and deleting stuff?

also, most times the phone will save 2 copies of a picture 1 copy in dcim folder, and the other copy in thumbnail. is there anything in these folders?
