Help Trouble charging battery

Hi. My battery won't charge when I connect charger I get a red cross over battery symbol. Any ideas? Nearly out of battery. Battery about one and a half years old

If I use a bad charger I will get the red X. But it might be the battery itself or the charging port. You will have to play elimination to find out.
