Issue with boot up and shutdown animations

I'm currently trying to use a custom boot up animation but when I set it up it shows a black screen? I set a custom boot up sound. Same thing with the shutdown animation. And I do not have a custom rom or recovery. Also, it would be generous if someone could post their shut animation down animations.

If you don't have a custom recovery to make a backup I strongly recommend you don't mess with boot animations. I've had one throw me into a bootloop but fortunately had a backup

How would I flash a custom recovery?
Would CWM and Twrp be considered custom recoveries? I have tried both and they haven't worked
 
Yeah I think so. What phone is it?
It is possible to have a rooted phone with locked bootloader but the unlocked padlock usually means it's unlocked :thumbsupdroid:
Are you sure you tried recoveries made for your exact phone model?

I Have a Samsung Stellar Sch-1200. I haven't found any recoveries for it
 
Yeah I've never heard of it so I doubt if there's much development for it :(
Just be aware that when you mess with system files like boot animation, if anything goes wrong you have nothing to fall back on without custom recovery.
