Root How to root the LG Leon/LG Power

Phone is probably unlocked. Need some one to build a recovery and I'll test. Also the partition scheme is exactly the same as the gstylo.
Also modemst1 & 2 are specific to you phone and contain the imei etc so I say back that shit up because you can use the send command exploit in download mode (posted by Unjustified Dev on xda[Noobified]) to send dd commands to restore partitions.

If a dev doesnt beat me to it ill install linux and attempt to make twrp for the tmobile stylo this weekend. Guess it doesnt hurt to learn and try. My fear is tmob will issue an ota to 5.1 and this will lock the bootloader before we have recovery. Unlike them to do so but they did lock the g4 down. :/

In the meantime i have some simple interactive gov settings (can be fine tuned to your liking) that scales a lot better than stock with better screen on battery time. Not perfect but definitely better. P.s. taking screenshots (vol- + power) on this device is stupid.

Can sum1 pull the stock lg Leon apps like FM radio weather quick note n post links here? Would b very grateful

Once I get a chance I will post the link. I have the LG Power L22C and that is a varient of the LG Leon. The apps should work on the Leon and other LG HDPI phones. They did remove the weather on the L22C so I can only upload quickmemo and FM radio.

I'll trade you the weather for FM radio lol
 
I just downloaded and installed your root system. Now my phone is f*cked, the screen keeps flashing on and off the hold screen. Then if I get past the lock screen, it just keeps button pressing random shit. Can I remove android and reinstall it fix this? What do I do i just bought a new lg leon.

Did you had the debugging checked and the unknown source checked in the security settings?

*- Enable Usb debugging on your phone. (Go to Settings > General > About phone > Software information, tap Build number seven times and then go to Settings > Developer options and turn on Usb debugging) (THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT STEP)

*- Connect your phone to pc. (it will install driver when connected just wait till is done)

*- Switch to MTP when drivers are full install
Then do the root method if you are able if not... Hopefully you can do a factory reset n start all over
 
I've tried the factory reset twice already. Tried everything you said above. Its all ready rooted this is the problem. It was rooted for about 20 minutes, it worked just fine. Then I plugged it into the wall outlet to charge it for the night. Can I root the phone again? IS there any way to do this through the pc. The phone is constantly pressing the screen for me opening up my calculator and pressing 5 non stop.

First if it has been rooted already... And if you have updated root su you should try to wipe dalvik n cache //// not factory reset.. You should use a root app like SD maid or 3ctools if you don't have rec. yet.
 
Just wanted to say hello to everyone. New to the LG Leon and Metro PCS (needed out of VM after 2 years of bs and a weak plan despite buying the Volt only a few months prior). Been using the knowledge contained in Android Forums and a couple others to learn the ropes of root, recovery and roms (Yay! I made a new slogan ☺
 
OK. I hate this phone. Pure and simple. 4th attempt at finishing my post that spontaneously posted before I even tried. Sorry for the clutter. Anyhow, I desperately need a TWRP recovery img and am willing to risk this annoying little device's usability to get it. If a guinea pig is needed Hit me up. Am fairly familiar with recovery and root, albeit in the earlier stages of learning. The Leon was free with activation and like I said I hate it already. Needs some modifications that only a custom recovery will allow me to do. Still using my LG Volt and am not overly concerned about ruining the Leon if it comes to that. Although I'd prefer to not. Did you use kingroot or kingo root? Do you have lg leon metropcs or lg power tracfone? What's the status of your device now?
