Root Htc one m8 stuck in infinite boot loop

This is the only rom being discussed.

You said that you tried to install it before.

Since flashing the new TWRP, have you tried to install it again?

If not, please do.

See if it works.

If you have tried installing it again since flashing the new TWRP, then get the rom zip on to your pc, extract the boot.img file from it, move the boot.img file into your fastboot folder, put the phone in FASTBOOT USB mode and say on your pc from the fastboot folder in a command window -

fastboot flash boot boot.img

fastboot reboot

after i did this reboot with the file

From FASTBOOT USB mode, please do this command on your pc -

fastboot getvar all

In the command window, alt+space for menu, E for edit - select all and then copy and paste the results here.

Edit out your IMEI and serial numbers for your protection.

OK - here's my best advice in your best interest.

Relock your bootloader - return your phone to stock (you're going to lose all of your files, sorry) - and then take the time you need to learn how to do this correctly, and try again.

Here's how -

Charge phone to at least 50%.

Download this -

https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B2rPZYX0QKP-THZSNkx1ck5kUjg/view

FASTBOOT USB mode say -

fastboot oem lock

Then double click the RUU to run it, the full file name is -
RUU_M8_UL_L50_SENSE60_MR_HTC_Europe_4.16.401.10_Radio_1.25.214500021.06G_20.68.4196t.01_F_release_417003_signed.exe

Follow the on screen instructions as it runs.

Save that utility, it's originally from HTC by way of http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=60972208&highlight=ruu+exe#post60972208 with my thanks!

omg thank you !!!
You're welcome. :)
does this mean i would have to root my phone again and find a new rom?
Yes and you don't have to worry because you get to start with a clean slate and use that lock-then-RUU trick if you get into a bad way again.
if so could u recommend a good rom for me? so i can do the research
Yes, happy to.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2705292

There's plenty to read in the first several posts but that's as it should be.

The first rule of rooting is to read, read, read and read some more so you have a clear picture first. And those guys give you plenty to read up on. Read several times and I promise it will make sense.

To root -

Unlock your bootloader. The Unlock_code.bin file you have is still the right one, make sure you save it ok.

Flash TWRP, the latest one I had you get.

From TWRP - Backup - just accept the defaults to begin. That is a nandroid backup - an image copy of what you care about.

Boot into stock rom so you know that everything still works.

Transfer ViperOneM8 installer zip file to your phone.

TWRP - Install - use file browser, choose the ViperOneM8 zip file.

The ViperOneM8 installer launches - very user friendly.

When it asks, say yes to a full wipe by the installer.

Choose the setup for your carrier - I believe that it will be something like International GSM or like that.

Choose the full stock rom.

Wait for the magic - reboot.

Both the first install and the first boot will take a little while. Most of us go for 100% full charge before starting so there are no worries.

Use it, set it up, and then back to TWRP (power - reboot - gives you the easiest way to just boot into recovery) - and make a nandroid backup now of your new, rooted system.

ViperOneM8 is like Sense on steroids - plenty of root features to keep you happy for a good long while.

:(

The V7 version was rated a beta version for KitKat 4.4.4 only.

Please confirm -

Did you make a nandroid backup before trying the mod?

Were you on KitKat or Lollipop?

Do you have a GPE M8 or the standard M8 with HTC Sense?

Don't panic - regardless of how you answer, you can fix this, and I can guide you through the right HK steps.

Tnx mate...i just fix it....what i did wrong is messing up with stock rom so i did download a custom rom (venom) to run and fix it.

Im on a 5.0.1 m8 international version. Lucky for me i manage to enter to bootloader then i start from there.

This forums help me a lot..tnx guys

Lesson? Read read and read before you do the stuff...

I'm sorry that we're not communicating well but yes, that's what I have been saying to do -

Install new TWRP (Done right?)

Wipe system from TWRP (Done right?)

Install the rom that you tried to install before using the new TWRP.
