Root CM Flashers

Be aware,
I flasshed every available Volt rom and never lost LTE till i did a advaced Wipe.
If your flashing various Volt roms do not not do a Advanced Wipe in TWRP or you will loose LTE, a simple factory reset is all you need.
You will have to reflash and start from ZV3 stock again to get LTE again.
It's my understanding that the radio is installed in a special partition so when we do a advanced wipe such as system, data, internal Storage and sdcard it wipes the radio, and reflashing it does not restore it.

I've done advanced wipes several times and it hasn't caused me to lose LTE. The only thing that has was flashing CM12, and flashing Candy restored it, oddly.

I've advanced wiped (selecting all the partitions to wipe) and installed CM12 once. No issues here with LTE, FM radio, or anything else important. I'm not sure what could be causing all these differences between our Volts, some have camera others don't, etc.

What recovery are you using?

My LTE troubles seemed to be associated to a specific dated release of CM12 (and using the non TWRP recovery - can't remember the name) . After losing LTE 2x's (and restoring it) I have become kinda gun-shy with this phone. I'm getting the 'itch' again as I'm seeing a few new roms to play with though. ;) Yeah - I guess I'm a masochist. lol

I did those steps and went back to Z3 and up, and I regained mobile data, but it seems I still don't have LTE. It also cut out my connection at one point.
Also, my booting animation is different now, no longer the original VM one.

Back to square one. What can I do now?

You could try flashing the Candy ROM to see if it fixes it as it did for bg4m3r. I had the same issue you did and tried pretty much everything and nothing worked. I ended up getting a replacement and have stuck with the rooted ZV5. Not going anywhere near these Lollipop ROMs until the LTE issue is sorted out..

Ok
We need someone with way more understanding to verify my findings. I try restoring to Zv3 and i was getting a mismach error. I was running cm 11 when i tryed to flash Zv3. When back and restored stock Zv5 and it let me down grade again again. So my thinking is that the network (sprint) does not recogonize our phones on the new builts of CM 11,12.

Flash ROM
Boot
Reboot to recovery
Flash Gapps
Flash APN fix
Reboot
Change SElinux to permissive mode( use kernel auditor or SElinux mode changer(set to apply changes at boot))
Pick APN of choice
Reboot
LTE problems should be gone

Same here
Actually, Advanced is the only option I've ever used when Wiping out every Rom this thread had to offer in the Forum here. I've neever lost LTE. I'm about to now though, lol but that's because I've used up all my data. Def not the Devs and Roms doing.

Zv5 Cm12 everything is well

I too was bitten by the wipe bug. Never had a problem with LTE, and I am a pretty heavy flasher. I started over and got everything back where I was and all is fine. Now I'm putting the Volt away, just got a G Stylo and loving it. We (on Boost Mobile) have root but no recovery yet. Seems the bootloader is locked. Some of the Devs on the Volt are the best I've seen, maybe somebody would like to take a peek at it. This is not a goodbye, I am keeping the volt for music and lite gaming.
