What to do with phone with shattered screen?

I have a perfectly fine Nexus 5 that my wife was using.

However, she dropped it and the entire screen is shattered. Can't see a damn thing.

It will turn on and functions fine. However, it's not usable with the screen in such bad condition.

I sent it back to LG in hopes they would fix it. They told me they would, for $150.

I since bought my wife a new Nexus 5 from Swappa. Therefore, I have a fully functional Nexus 5, but the screen needs replaced.

I don't want to trash it. However, I also don't want to spend $150 to get it fixed when I don't need it.

Any ideas on what I can do with it?

You don't want to throw it away and don't want to pay for another party to fix it. Your options are very limited, pretty much to fix it yourself.

But aren't the parts pretty much $100+ ?

I'm just looking to see if there are other options I wasn't aware of.

Not that the Nexus 5 is lacking in development, but if you have no use for it and want to just be rid of it, you could always donate it to a developer. Preferably one of your favorites that doesn't already own a Nexus 5 to develop on.
