Root Have to get a new phone. Stay with Volt?

My year of insurance is almost up at best buy, so it's time to go trade. The charger port has been going bad for awhile now.
Looking at the site, the Volt is still offering the best specs for the price. Does anyone have any other suggestions? Of course, I'm looking for a phone with root. But I don't want to give up this battery life either. Decisions...

The Volt is probably the best budget phone on on VM, Sprint and Boost. Just not a lot of decent phones unless you wanna break the bank. I wanted to try a Different phone but Boost didn't have anything else is liked. Thought about the Lg G Stylo but after my wife got it I found it was a bit laggy for me. Even debloating it left it laggy.

I decided to try something different so I ended up ordering a Blu Life One Lte off Amazon and activated it on Straight Talk (AT&T network) and I'm quite pleased. It's a decent running phone for $99. Has no root yet but very minimal bloat so it runs well. Plus getting upwards of 25mbps downloads on Straight Talk so that's pretty nice.

For the price/specs its undeniable that its in its own class. I got one off eBay that was/is practically brand new for $29.50 and runs just as fast as my friends top brand phones. Might not have a few abilities that the top priced ones do, but most don't even need those features. My cousin has an iPhone 6+ and he's always saying he's going to get rid of his and buy a volt. He's amazed about the free WiFi tethering etc haha

I appreciate the input, it does seem to be the best that Boost is offering right now. Their selection hasn't changed much in the past year or two.

My work phone is an iphone6... I hate it. It's a great camera, and that's about it. The lack of a back button will make you want to beat it with a hammer. I do get free tethering with it since it's on a business account :)

The Volt II ($149) and Tribute II ($99) are out now from Boost Mobile. I wonder how the two Volts will compare. Especially with the Volt II's smaller battery and a 5" 720p HD screen...

My gf has the LG stylus from boost, which is very nice for a larger LG phone. Its got a lil bit longer battery life for the same price as the volt when it first hit the shelf, im thinking about getting it because of the larger screen, stylus pen, lollipop(5.1.1) LG based rom, and the battery life to see what i can do far as root and ROM development.
