There may be a problem with that TWRP or the zip. I don't own this device so I am unable to test. The recovery itself has been tested though so you can grab the img and use flashify to install it.

I will test the flashable and fix it as required

i just tried the flashable zip and it works fine... i even checked the updater-script and all is well...

I have noticed that in this recovery when booting into it there is 1 second of black before seeing the TWRP logo. This did not happen in previous versions. I am just letting you know. But other than that this is the best recovery yet. Keep up the good work @SuperR

i have also noticed that to correctly enter recovery from power off, you need to hold down the volume down buton and power at the same time, then let go of power at the logo but still keep holding on the volume, then immediately repress the power, and viola

Does this method bypass the factory reset altogether?

I removed the code that allows the factory reset in this version of TWRP, but it still comes to the factory reset menu. Once you say yes to factory reset it boots into recovery without wiping. I am asking if the method @UltimateRoxxs mentioned bypasses factory reset altogether and boots straight into recovery.

No, but when I used the method you guys showed me, I could never get it on the first try, this method never fails
Ok, that's what I figured. Just making sure there was not a better way to accomplish avoiding the factory reset without hacking TWRP source.

Anyone want to test TWRP 2.8.7.0?

w5c_twrp_2870.img

I am almost certain the recovery will work. The main thing that needs to be tested is booting to recovery from power off. I had to change the way I did it with 2.8.7.0 and we need to find out if it boots to recovery without actually wiping the data. Please make a backup in the current recovery before doing this because it is possible your data will be wiped. Thanks :)
