You didn't do a system back up? if so, just restore back to it. reboot. then try the updated again. if you didn't back up I can make a clean back up for you to restore from.

the thing is as far i understand he Wipe system meaning after Flashing the LP511_MS631_6-30-2015.zip should get that system back but update to 5.1.1 so there must be something else or maybe doing something wrong idk.

Omg your a lifesaver if this works but no i did not back up the file.

We had people do that with spirit and the Mega. I made them a clean backup of the system. had them flash it through restore and they were back up and running.

you have to have TWRP recovery installed. so yes you need to be rooted.

Ok i can get into twrp recovery but when i tried to flash it says no root

1- yes need to be Rooted so you'll be able to install TWRP
2- you can still do OTA but you'll be loosing your bootloader to be lock meaning can root but not install custom recovery and without TWRP custom recovery wont be able to Flash and try new roms.
3- updating with @GameTheory flashable zip file you will sustain Root + Custom Recovery + Unlock Bootloader
you'll be fine if it say that when Reboot

You shouldn't post that as that doesn't fully update to 5.1.1 since it will be missing the new modem.
He can use your 5.0.2 backup and then follow what's in the first post to update.

No, that wasn't for him. I was posting the 5.1.1 back for those who are on 5.1.1 that might mess something up and not have a back up for it.

Quick question can i use this to update my stylo without rooting? I dont care about rooting, loading custom roms or locking my bootloader i just want the update to 5.1.1 without waiting

You have to flash it through TWRP recovery. On this phone you can only do that by being rooted so you can flash TWRP

hey GT, ValydFXctz used the back up i put up. the 5.0.2 one. Hes not getting data. He said he updated to 5.1.1 using your zip file. but still no data. any suggestions?
