When I first view a thread I get a lot of whitespace and the name missing -

Also want an image upload (via Gallery selection maybe?) and if possible, even a way to upload other approved file types.

Post edit seems to be on a short timer.

Member titles with names would be outstanding. :)

The starting position when viewing a thread is set to the end of the last post in the thread. This will be corrected to start with the beginning of the first post in the next app update. In the meantime you can scroll up. The whitespace is where the ad should be displayed. Are you not seeing ads?

It's that way on every post in every new thread. After I back out, everything is compact as expected.

Ok... Here's a screenshot with member groups. Unfortunately member titles have been disabled in the Tapatalk api.

Is that something that we could fix on our side then? (Again, I can't promise, I'm just gathering info.)

Because one thing that I hear constantly in the active root threads - people like to know when they're talking to a rom developer. So, titles are a good thing ok.

Yes, display of member titles can be enabled by applying a minor patch to the Tapatalk api on the phpbb server.

Yes. The following two patches were made to the Tapatalk api on my test phpbb server. Member titles are now displayed in the client app.

In the file:
mobiquo/function/viewtopic.php

Uncomment the following line - there are two instances:

Thanks for testing! I believe the original open source Forum Fiend app needed bug fixing and updates to the user interface to make it a viable alternative to forum browsing apps. Please feel free to test the app and feedback is definitely welcome!

A new version of Forum Friends & Discussions v2 (54/1.3.16) has been pushed to Google Play

Changes include:

* The issue with settings/theme has been fixed, so theme options can be set now.

* The starting position in threads has been fixed to set position to beginning of unread threads and last viewed position of read threads.

* Post menu icons have been made smaller to address issue with whitespace/clipping. (Unable to duplicate whitespace yet)

* nginx session cookies change frequently so automatic re-logging in was added to maintain a logged in session state.

* A new feature has been added to display member titles. This requires a patch to the server-side api.

Hey @autonomous1 I just installed your app tonight in the hope of replacing Forums For Android.
Unfortunately I have a bug. My favourites screen is blank.
It did show up momentarily and then when I went back to it it was blank again.
I use favourites as my home screen but tried it not and same thing, blank page.
Stock OnePlus One Android 5.0.2.
I could possibly get a bug report as its built into the CM firmware.
Was about to take a screenshot but my favourites are back again so it's intermittent.
Just an FYI mate.
Other than this it seems like a great app although I had two force closes right at the start while scrolling through lists :thumbsupdroid:
EDIT after a restart, favourites are still there.
I'll keep you updated mate
 
Also I just tried editing a quoted reply and the edit didn't take (although that could very well be site issues. It took second time)

Could we make it easier to distinguish between threads I've read since they were last updated and ones which haven't (say white for unread, grey for for read)?
I find it difficult to differentiate.
