Date you ordered and received the phone vs. "will ship by" date

I just noticed that the Incredible now says "will be shipped by 5/29". I'm curious as to when you guys ordered and received the phone. I saw a couple of posts saying they ordered one day and got it the next, despite the shipping delay message. I will be ordering my phone in a few hours and I really hope I get lucky and find it at my door in a few days.
 
I ordered 5/1 and got it 5/5 (Fedex 2 day). I believe at the time it said shipping by 5/9 or 5/14, I honestly can't remember.
 
i just ordered mine today. This is the email I got back from my sales guy when I asked whats the ETA for delivery:
West Area

Orders where payment was taken on 5/2 & 5/3 will ship by 5/6
Orders where payment was taken on 5/4 & 5/5 will ship by 5/7
Orders where payment was taken on 5/6 will ship by 5/14
Orders where payment was taken on 5/7 will ship by 5/21
Orders where payment was taken on 5/8, 5/9 & 5/10 will ship by 5/26
 
I don't know if the orders now will be handled similiarly to preorders, but I ordered mine April 24th, and got it April 28th
 
Ordered my son's online on 5/5 and got it on 5/6. Picked mine up at the local VZW store on 4/29, but they were out of stock when I went by today.
 
I ordered my husband's online this past Tuesday evening. It came yesterday. I believe it showed a ship by date of 5/14.
 
Ordered 04/28, got 04/29.

does it really matter, though? obviously it's really popular, and thus on backorder. if you order it, you'll get it... eventually.

if you cant wait, go to a store (call and ask first of course)

Definitely call first. All of the local stores here have been telling me order online as none of them have any.
 
Great thread, this is the question that has been on my mind all day. I ordered the incredible through Verizon online today with a ship date of "05/21". I'm hoping I will get lucky and it will be at my front door Monday "05/10". When I called today to order the incredible through the phone a Verizon Rep. said the phone was available to ship immediately for "my area (Los Angeles, CA.)" and I would get free two day shipping and should receive it by Wednesday 05/12. I decided to order it online through Verizon to get the instant rebate and avoid the $20 early upgrade fee I was going to be charged. I called later and to follow up on my online order and a Verizon Rep. told me he was under the impression that all "online" orders ship from the Verizon Houston, Texas warehouse and that the online order department informed him that orders will ship on "05/21" which is a Friday and I should receive the phone on "05/23" Monday. I don't know if that ship date is what they have to tell everyone because that is the date that is being advertised on the website. I'm hoping I get my phone sometime next week. :confused:
 
I'm in Connecticut.

Ordered online 5/4
Received shipment notice 5/6
Received Incredible 5/7

In between ordering and receiving shipment the online status was confirming that the order was accepted and would ship in 2/3 days.
 
Well, I ordered mine around 12:30am on the 8th. As you know the VZW message said 5/29. I don't have a shipping confirmation but I checked the order status and it says "Your order has been processed. You should receive your order within 2 - 3 business days." Sounds promising.
 
Ordered mine on 5/7/10, got a email 10 minutes ago today, 5/10/10 stating it has shipped from West Chester PA. When I bought it the ship by date was 5/21.


Just hope it comes by the time I leave for work at 1pm. Everytime I order something that ships via fed ex they try to deliver to the wrong house. They tried to deliver a 600 dollar camera 4 houses down a couple years ago, at my previous appt they delivered my wifes wedding ring set to the wrong building. I will be a nervous wreck tomorrow waiting on it.
 
same here.. ordered on 5/7, got my email about 20 min ago and was shipped from west chester in route to coatesville, PA
 
Hmm, I ordered mine on 5/6 and still haven't received a shipping notification, but other people who ordered later than me already have. Life's not fair. :(

I have heard of people not getting shipping notifications when their devices have already shipped. Try checking order status on vzw or calling *611 or whatever that number is.

On another note, I ordered mine on 5/7, and I also haven't gotten a shipping notification yet. Can't check the order status since it's on my brother's account (he's an employee and I'm on his plan), but I'm hoping it'll get here soon. According to someone else on this forum whose name I forget, when consumer orders are shipping, employee orders are too. I really don't want to wait until late this month/early next month to get it :eek:
 
ordered via phone on 05/09... was told to call back on 05/10 for tracking number and that i would get it in my hands on 05/12. called on 05/10 and was told that it would ship 05/29... called right back and spoke to someone else and was told it would ship 05/17... god only knows when i'm going to get it.
