WHAT IS THIS THREAD FOR?

So, in the grunt of conversations, Hroark13 releases ROMs just out of the blue, just because he can, and we have to make sure that the community knows about these ROMs. So, I made a thread for them. DO NOT REQUEST ROMS IN THIS THREAD! Again... DO NOT REQUEST ROMS IN THIS THREAD. There is a Rom request thread already available. Hroark13 has already said that anybody who wants to take on the project can have them (as far as ROM maintenance), and I need this to be as clean as possible to track bugs that may need fixing and listing (which I can put in the OP). As with any thread though, you can compliment Hroark and by him a beer (or 20) for his work.

I will report you if you request another ROM in here (or derail the thread to where it has NOTHING to do with the things this thread is about). A lot of time bug reports get lost in a sea of arbitrary conversation, which leaves problems unresolved and people complaining about the same problem over and over. Let's try to avoid that, shall we? :)

If Hroark adds a ROM, I will add it here. I'm not maintaining these either, and I'm not obliging him to maintain them, but I figured more people would be excited about them if they knew they existed.

DISCLAIMER

Hroark13 has explicitly stated that he will NOT be supporting these ROMs for long term development. He did say he would hang around to answer the occasional question if it's a general inquiry, but he won't be pushing out regular updates and whatnot, so do not ask, do not expect it, and do not badger him about it. In the words of the Halo 3 skull, "WYSIWYG" (What you see is what you get).

I am going to use your pac-4.4.4 ROM today. I'll let you know how it turns out. Hopefully just as good as stock with less bugs than the stock ROM.

BUG on PACman ROM 4.4.4: colors mixed up badly, For example, try recording and playing the video and the colors would be all messed up. a quick solution would be downloading MX player and enabling S/W decoder (Software decoder). But unfortunately that is not system-wide and YouTube videos are also messed up with a lot of other apps that require video playback. My best guess on fixing this is by changing the Software decoder but of course, I can't do that due to my lack of skills in technology. Other than that everything has been working fine for me in this ROM.

No. Ethan has elected to support the ROMs he releases. Hroark on the other hand has explicitly stated that he had no intention of long term support. He just randomly throws out ROMs in his comments I'm general discussion, so I figured I'd put them in one place

K I understand now I rember when he released I carbon I didn't even know lol.
 
Pacman - 4.4.4 Audio bug - headphones are not activating upon insertion. I have been using SoundAbout from the play store to activate my headphones. Someone else test this to confirm please. BTW. I have uninstalled the default audiofx and replaced it with viper4android. So whoever gets the chance. Please test before and after if you get the chance.
 
Pacman - 4.4.4 - Audio wakelock - the touch sounds and screen lock sound cause a massive battery drain wakelock. Figured I would give a heads up. Trying to pinpoint the other wakelocks. Will report back when I find them.

@MonDillinger OK... I want to keep running pacrom4.4.4. But damnit.... The ROM has a rogue app in system that I cannot pinpoint.

I know vid playback was an issue. How did you wipe before you installed? Did you factory reset or did you manually advance wipe the system, data, cache and dalvik?

I know vid playback was an issue. How did you wipe before you installed? Did you factory reset or did you manually advance wipe the system, data, cache and dalvik?
 
@MonDillinger If I do a swap from a kitkat ROM to another kitkat ROM then I do a basic factory reset. When I go from say kitkat to lollipop or lollipop to kitkat I'll sometimes manually wipe the partitions that I need to clear out. I've tried both methods on the pacrom 4.4.4 with no actual difference though.

@MonDillinger OK. Making a backup of the pac5.1 ROM here in a bit so I can restore my pac4.4 ROM. Going to try that 4.4.4 custom kernel. BTW..... What kernel is built into the pacrom 4.4.4 ROM to begin with? It may be what needs adjusted or swapped out to fix the visual glitches in video playback as well as the wakelocks.

Oh very nice. See if you can unlock the max frequency for the VGA on it for another 200-300 MHz. We could lock our CPU max frequency to 1.2 GHz and kick up the GPU to so say 700 or so MHz and get some really nice gaming performance out of it. I used to do that on my nexus 7 2012 edition.
