Good. Two of us is a plurality.

im thinking of just rooting before the OTA, that way i wont have to worry about it. but i really like 1.5. is that baaaaaad!?

If you root your phone before the update, won't it reset that also? Or will it keep the root access and just update the system files so you have 2.1 rooted?

One of these days....it's gonna happen.

I had that much energy, at one time......

I wonder when the first OTA will hit.

Wait. That question sounds familiar. ;)

Now the anxious waiting game begins again. Only there's more hope that it is actually right around the corner this time around. :)

Here ya go..

Those Stupid Games

That'll be four dollars in cash (American).
Keep him away from me and I'll paypal it to you. ;) The odd thing is when I clicked the above link there was a guy in a scientology tee that looked exactly like CM. I can't get away!!

Hey, there is a very strange thread going on in another forum about battery life. It seems like if you charge your phone with it on, even overnight, to full and then you unplug, turn the phone off, and then plug it in again, that it takes another 5 to 15 minutes to go green again. Have you ever tried that? I'm going to do that with my Eris now, but I also did it with my wife's LG and the same phenomenon happened. People are saying that battery life increased dramatically after doing that.

Darn, is this OT again? Sorry..

Yeah, you can do that at the other end of the charging cycle, as well. Drain it to the point of no activity from the device (shaver, cell phone, cordless smoke shifter, etc :D), let it sit for an hour or so, turn it back on and it'll have some charge in it.

With Ni-Cad batteries that is the way to go to get it fully discharged. I would not do it with a Lithium-Ion battery, although there is a bit of controversy about that.

Walking along the OT line - But I've known that trick with rechargeable devices for a long time.
And a very fine line it is.. Just did it with the Eris and after a full charge it's still charging, 5 minutes so far. I'm wondering if this applies to my laptop too.

What's this battery trick?
I'm really OT here now, but quickly here it is. (Mods, i hereby put the cloak of invisibility on me)
Charge the phone completely, either off or on, but most of us usually leave the phone on during overnight charges. After you get a green light, unplug it. Then turn the phone off, (some say you can even leave it on) and then plug it back in. It will take another charge for at least 5 minutes or so, meaning even though you charged it overnight it wasn't full. After the light turns green the second time, battery life increases dramatically. Some are even saying unplug it a couple of times but I don't have the patience for that. Eris still charging after 10 minutes now, with a full charge overnight.

Concerning the battery trick, I charged mine yesterday (Seidio 3500mAh battery, phone power on, from computer USB port) to 99%. After unplugging it, the battery level dropped to 86% in a matter of a minute. It took another hour with the supplied wall charger to finish it off again. It's been fine since, but has anyone else seen it happen? Scared me for a minute, because I had JUST thrown away the Seidio packaging, reciepts, and Amazon shipping box.

Oh yea, and back to the origional point, can anyone point me to wherever HTC supposedly promised the 2.1 update in "early June"? Refering to the IntoMobile @ intomobile.com/2010/05/04/eclair-users-surpass-donut-cupcake-still-king-of-android.html

...I am stating the obvious??
We bought the dog of the Android line and its going to be left behind. Next Thursday its fate will be sealed and you wont have to hear from me again. Just stay here in the Eris section and complain about not getting 2.1 or continue to use the buggy leaks only released to shut you up since there will be NO official release.

Emphatically stated as fact, numerous times. Believed by quite a few. Hopefully, future posters can take this, and other posts, as examples of where patience and deliberation contribute greatly to your credibility and the value of these forums.

I was so TOTALLY surprised when I picked up my phone this morning and the os update was there!!! I was beginning to wonder if it would ever come. They finally got my area totally 3g last week, wonder if that had anything to do with it?? Anyway, it is awesome so far. Feel like I have a new phone!!
