We have it on my wife's Dell Inspiron 1525 (2007) model and it runs Windows 10 just fine.As best I can tell it is downloading now. I'm fairly certain my craptop is on the low end of spec worthy, so I'm not sure how it will run, but it can't be worse than Win H8
I still have to figure out what's going on with my Bluetooth (or, more specifically, the magical way in which the computer refuses to see any Bluetooth devices), but that's the only lingering problem I have from the in-place forced upgrade.
The good news is that Windows 10 will keep up with all those updates so you don't have to worry about it anymore. It wouldn't be Windows without a constant barrage of updates to install.
I had to do about 3 or 4 runs of updates yesterday to get 8.1 current. Even after I installed all the available ones, you would check and 30 more would appear.

ftfyThe good news is that Windows 10 will hijack your computer at the most inopportune time to apply the updates so you don't have to worry about it anymore.![]()
Not true, actually - you can schedule the intrusive update-requiring installs to suit your needs: http://www.howtogeek.com/221903/how-to-schedule-restarts-for-updates-in-windows-10/ftfy
I'm not referring to the reboot, I'm referring to the behind the scenes download and install process when everything else slows to an unresponsive crawl and Windows gives you no indication that it is updates causing it until it finally prompts for a reboot. Not true, actually - you can schedule the intrusive update-requiring installs to suit your needs: http://www.howtogeek.com/221903/how-to-schedule-restarts-for-updates-in-windows-10/![]()
THX for the link, installing as we speak.......I'd only given a preview build a quick 10-min spin in a virtual machine, but I jumped right on it on Tuesday on both my computers at once.... Bit risky I suppose, but I'm glad to say I'm happy with it.
FYI, now you can stop waiting for windows update to download windows in the background, by grabbing the install disc files directly. NOTE: You apparently must perform an upgrade over your 7/8/8.1 install (not a fresh install) in order to get an upgraded licence key for windows 10. Once you have your key, you're free to install the OS however you like.
