No. You can continue use ext4. If you want, you can reformat /data to f2fs in latest TWRP.@vm03
I'm using CM12.1 2015-08-15 with PartitionTableTool_1.0.1 from @vladimirs77 , if i flash update from today, will i get a bootloop because of F2FS support?
F2FS (Flash-Friendly File System) is a flash file system initially developed by Samsung Electronics for the Linux kernel.
The motive for F2FS was to build a file system that from the start, takes into account the characteristics of NAND flash memory-based storage devices (such as solid-state disks, eMMC, and SD cards), which are widely used in computer systems ranging from mobile devices to servers.
Is there any significant difference between ext4 and f2fs in usage? Please share your experiences

I don't see visible difference. Is there any significant difference between ext4 and f2fs in usage? Please share your experiences![]()

Maybe by doing some benchmarks, will be some difference, but I am not in the mood to do it, but if someone will, maybe will share the resultI don't see visible difference.![]()

Mine stays stock for some reason. What does the new one look like?@vm03 Great job for fixing offline charging. Is it ok that it shows stock charging animation for a 1-2 sec then it change to new animation?![]()

It's pretty and nice and shiny, of course it's also cool and awesomeMine stays stock for some reason. What does the new one look like?

First image at starting offline charge, can't be changed. Next animation from d325 stock. If anyone can paint good battery animation for CM it will be cool.@vm03 Great job for fixing offline charging. 1. Backup /data in TWRPand there steps to follow to make the installation in f2fs
I was told there are not much benefits or speed by using this file system, in fact possibly less read speed.1. Backup /data in TWRP
2. Manual backup content of "Internal SD"
3. Boot to TWRP (need ver. 20120821)
4. Press Wipe
5. Press Advanced Wipe
6. Press to Choose only Data
7. Press Repair or change file system
8. Press Change File System
9. Press F2FS
10. Restore backups
Thank you very much, @vm03 it seems more fluid or my impression1. Backup /data in TWRP

!

I made a complete wipe of all the partitions (data, cache,...), flashed, and it did not worked! no boot screen just the lg logo frozen at the screen! cold swets, till I find out that I have formated also /system with f2fs, by mistake, so be carefull! after that it was all smooth, as usual!
Maybe it is just me, but it seems to be more fluid
Thank you @vm03 !
No,So is your system partition still f2fs?
. I have check them, and only data survive with f2fs
. I try to format data, cache and system to f2fs but for some reason after installing cm and gapps, it refuses to start! I search on Google and find aut that ext4 has a better read speed than f2fs, but I want f2fs, so I will keep to search and try
Reboot to TWRP Recovery then Go to Mount then choose the option to Mount USB Storage. There you have it. It's not the actual MTP but this works when moving large files, the only downside is you can't use the OS.Is there a solution to move large files from MTP ?
i use google translate![]()
