FYI guys, running pretty smooth on my end for a few days. Still playing around with the goveners and i/o to get the best battery performance.

Small request, would be under volting. Being able to control the voltage pulled from the batter is a huge battery saver.

Thanks for everyone's hard work to make the ZMAX a customizable phone. I bought the phone yesterday with build B06 that I was able to install Buternoob following the great documentation. Now my question, or clarification, is that I want to install this OC Kernel.

Do I download and flash the zip in TWRP then run the BUTTERKAT_KERNEL_SWITCHER.zip then BUTTERKAT_KERNEL_RESTORE.zip? I understand the system files are write protected, just not sure the correct order and any intermediate steps. Would I then use the same steps for any zip file I want to flash, such as Xposed framework, boot animations, or sound files.

The switcher and restore files are not needed to flash the butterkat kernel, you will need the butterkat versions of the switcher (to gain system r/w if n when needed) and restore (to remove system r/w)

Using SetCPU (paid) I cant get any governors to stick. It stays on "on demand" no matter what I do.

im not on rw and mine stick...I also have a profile set for screen on and that works too.. but im on stock not butternoob.. I had the same problem untill I set a profile for start up and screen on

I'm on stock MetroPCS and did need to set r/w up to get the gov to stick using SetCPU.

Without r/w I could select any gov but it would not actually change gov despite almost appearing to. Tested by setting governor to under clock the phone then running a benchmark. Bench ran at 1595 despite being set to just shy of 1g. After r/w setup it caps out wherever I put it.

Currently running at 1595 max with performance gov on and slightly tweaked.

Only under heavy load, not in every day use.

@MonDillinger Can you make a 2nd version of this kernel with the lowest cpu frequency being 787 MHz and the GPU frequency being 450 MHz?

The Qualcomm thermal throttle keeps lowering my max frequency to 300 MHz on stock and 192 MHz on butterkat.

And remove the 200 and 320 MHz GPU speeds as well so it is always at a solid 450 MHz.

All in all I would just like a badass high performance kernel that actually uses the 450 MHz max GPU frequency and doesn't get throttled down to as low as possible on the CPU.

That would certainly kill the battery. Have you restarted your handset? I'd start with that as it seems something got crossed somehwere.

Give it a few mins and see if you are getting any "sleep time"

Try itand find out. Worst case scenario would be that you have to flash the stock kernel again
