Root Partition Problem

I wouldn't call it too much of a critical problem, but it does involve something that I think I may have done to mess up my partition!

I was messing around with my phone a while back and I ended up using twrp to connect to my windows ten laptop and "Enabled" MTP! And it showed up as a partition and windows said it needed to be formatted. Well like a dummy I formatted it

I don't know if it's me but ever since then it feels like every ROM I use, especially 5.0+ ROMS seem to be so much more laggy than they should be! A few other things that I've noticed is when I format or wipe the partitions I ALWAYS get an error. Whatehr it be from stock rom or not!

I've noticed also that there seems to be two of the exact same partitions showing up in TWRP

Internal Storage (3961 MB)
sdcard (3961 MB)
external_SD (7999 MB)

Whereas I used to remember there only being Two Partitions showing up "Internal Storage" And "External_SD"

When I do "Format Data" From TWRP I get

--Formatting Data using make_ext4fs function
E:mount -o bind '/data/media/0' '/sdcard process ended with ERROR=255
E:Unable to mount '/sdcard'/
E:mount -o bind '/data/media/0' '/sdcard process ended with ERROR=255
E:Unable to mount '/sdcard'/

You may need to reboot recovery to be able to use /data again

E:Unable to mount '/sdcard'

It's not a major problem but I'd still like my phone to be in full-working order! I've surfed through a few other forums and threads but I don't want to do anything that could Further Damage my phone! So I'd thought I'd post this here! Is there a way to possibly get my partitions back to the way they were when I first bought the phone?

I've thought about using fastboot or a partition tool from linux but again, I'm not experienced with this partitioning stuff so I wanted to ask somebody who knows what they're doing! Thanks! :)

the latest version of twrp (lollipop compatible) gives that error regarding wiping sdcard, internal storage.. i get it. before upgrading twrp the errors with wiping were not there. nor was those duplicate entries for what amounts to internal storage. these issues seem to be in all the latest twrp recoveries ive used. was present on zte awe latest twrp also. just my opinion but the latest twrp no matter what device its on,needs some serious debugging.

and to answer your query about windows wanting to format. i always disregard it. but if you were to format you would most likely just be formatting your internal storage partition. which would erase anything you had there but would not create extra partitions or mess up anything. i think it was a coincidence you formatting then noticing the issues twrp already has.

yeah i thought the latest twrp for lollipop was the 2.8.5. followed a link when i got it and didnt see the full thread pointing to your 2.8.7 twrp. glad you shared that link.
