Working on getting TWRP official for the Zmax. I still gotta trim it down. I'm real close to it compiling w/o turning max size flag off.
I've eliminated some things to get the size down, but needs more gone.

Just informing.
You gonna left me add it to broken Switchers?

Heh. I kinda wish I could root B.33 safely to get you guys the modem files for b12 to implement it into BrokenOs and/or Cm12.1. It seems like broken may be the only hope for this device to ever receive an update to marshmallow. I kinda also wish we could have VoLTE and WiFi calling in custom ROMS. Sadly those are just wishes

I am rooted on stock 4.4.4 v1.0.0.b06 I rooted with the newest version of Kingsport and it was successful after 1st try. I flashed the supersu zip. I have looked on here and on the BrokenOS G+ community and unless I am overlooking it, just need a little help. I have flashed a lot of Roms on a lot of devices, but never one with a switcher. I am just trying to get clarity because I don't have access to a PC on hand.
I have downloaded the latest Rom, apps, and switcher app posted on the community page. I have got the order on which they flash in. I just want to make sure I am spot on because of all the posts on bricking the device and how unsavable it is.
The questions I have are:
1: flash Rom first and reboot, then gapps reboot, then switcher app or do I add all 3 zips at once?
2: When I wipe before flashing Rom go into advanced and wipe all, but sdcard? Do I format data? After flashing all 3 zips wipe dalvik and cache and reboot?
3: Do I add the switcher zips to internal or external sd or does the switcher app do that instead?
See I think I've over read so much on all the Roms and from months ago till now that I have confused my self. I have watched the broken switcher app by dfuse. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I havnt seen instructions on the install of BrokenOS with the switcher app, if so please point me in that direction. I appreciate everything that all the devs and members have done in this community and like I said above just need some clarity on this and don't want to leave anything out.

You can install all the zips at once.

I wouldn't go all gungho on the switcher app until you watch dfuses video.

Wipe dalvik, data, system, and cache. If you format data and have the roms on your internal storage you'll be left with no system and no rom to flash. As well as no backup to restore if you had them on your internal storage.

I always store the Roms gapps and back ups on external sd, with the f6 internal storage was 1.27GB without hack, so really didn't have a choice. I formatted data each Rom install, just thought I may have read not to somewhere, but it seems to be a cleaner flash if it's is alright to and I read wrong.

The normal wipe options like dalvik, data, system, cache do not erase your internal storage as that is its own partition.

It is safe to keep your backups and roms on the internal storage.

Also data format is not needed if you are just updating the rom, but if you are coming from another rom like stock or cyanogenmod then a data format is needed in case the system apps were different and it does not cause system issues.

The usual process is to install the rom and the gapps needed for the rom at the same time if not one by one so you can just restart to system and start using your phone.

But never install gapps first as most roms format system so flash gapps after the rom!

Anyway the switcher app is not needed unless you plan to remove or edit system stuff like system apps or use root apps that need system write.

The actual rom does not need system write just to be used.

Formatting data is not needed but if it is something you want to do it won't hurt anything as long as the ROM and gapps are on your SD card. Just make sure you do all your wiping before you flash and not after. You can install the ROM, gapps, and switcher zip all at once in that order.
Does that mean also wipe dalvik and cache before flashing and not after installs where it comes up with the wipe dalvik/cache and reboot screen at end of flash? Also no other switcher/restore files needed besides app?

If you can't read... Or won't read... Or don't understand...
Stop....
Without going too far off topic....
Do yourself a favor... Read some shit...
Read all of the answers to the question your asking..
Because every ROM in the forums for the ZMAX .... the same question had been answered more than 5 times.....
If you refuse to read.... You're gonna have problems that sooner or later
No ones will want to answer....

And you end up buying another phone and talking smack about the ZMAX and the DEVs.. and the locals that told you to read.....
Reading will save you money...
And from looking like a fool...

Obviously you didn't read. I said I have read a lot actually. You can take a look at over 300 posts that I have posted here and see that I do not usually ask much. I thank all the devs on each phone I have had all the way back to the indulge. Like I mentioned before I'm asking for clarity because I don't want to end up in that situation and also if you do not ask questions, then that will make you dumb one. I see that most of this is plain and simple. To be honest with as much talk about bricking and that is hard bricking not soft bricking, I feel I'm doing the right thing. Just as some extra info, I havnt even done anything besides root the phone, installed recovery, flashed SU and downloaded the needed files for when I am ready to go with the Rom. I'll be sure to let you know when I have successfully done it, and guarantee you I will not brick. All I am saying is yes there is enough info to do this without a ton of questions, but it is not organized info, it is scattered. To be honest I do not feel that the few post that I have posted for a little support is a lot to ask. Isn't that why we have a "community"? Even though you are referring to me as a fool, I am not taking shots at you or going to call you any names, actually I have seen you be very supportive over the few years I have been here and kind of shocked by your reply. I have also seen you ask questions that you needed answers to also. Once again thanks for all the devs and members for everything y'all have done.

Edit* I do not change original posts, but I do see I read part of your post wrong. You were not calling me a fool, but saying don't end up to be one. I'm sorry about that.
