Why is Verizon NOt Marketing their best phone? The Incredible.

What happened to the Incredible marketing I think I've seen like one boring commercial which does not even show the phone and one or two radio ads, thats it? WOW~

when you have the best phone out in the market shouldn't they be marketing it? The motorola is still be marketed as the best phone in all the radio ads and commercials they have...

Its so annoying I'd like to see the incredible being marketed everywhere.

they are, ive seen it. They are marketing "Droid" which now sums up Moto Droid and Incredible.

Well seeing as they have very few of these in the stores I dont think they need to at this point. I am hoping the uproar dies down soon and there will start to be some locally soon.

They will only market products that need it not ones that are selling. In advertising you only market when needed especially in this economy. The droid incredible will sell itself for the most part.

There are availability issues with Incredible, and a surplus of Droids. The two phones have the same functionality, so they aren't losing anything by advertising an older device.

They have paid alot of money to Lucas films to use the name Droid. They will market that name not the one they did not have to pay to use.

With the amount of money they've invested into the Moto Droid, they want to make sure they have maximized their returns. Also, as others have stated, if they start advertising the Incredible, what happens to the remaining Moto Droids? Remember, they were on a BOGO sale, so VZW was essentially giving them away at half off. Once they clear stock, I'm sure we'll see more advertising (we are STILL seeing advertising for the Moto Droid even though the release date was almost 6 months ago, so VZW has plenty of time to push the Incredible)

1) AMOLED supply chain issues are causing shortages of the Incredible

2) Motorola pays Verizon to air the Droid commercials featuring the Moto Droid. Maybe if HTC starts ponying up ad cash, Verizon will start running Incredible commercials on TV.

Personally I don't mind seeing moto droid commercials. They are about 100x better than suffering through those "this is what i did with mah iphone today" commercials.

Has this been reported some place?

I too have seen commercials for the HTC "Droid" Incredible by Verizon, but they certainly do not compare with the Moto Droid ones that looked like mini-movie trailers.

Why? They are out of stock with phones. I don't think they need much advertising...

Why would Motorola pay VZW when VZW depends on their products to get contracts? Where did you see this? I'm pretty sure most, if not all, advertising is through VZW's budget.

The Droid Eris commercials were pushed by HTC not Verizon. Maybe HTC will promote the Droid Incredible as well?

I see Droid Incredible marketing all the time. I think most people are just used to the Moto Droid commercials and don't realize they're watching a commercial for the Incredible. They look very similar.

This may be true for the Eris, however, it did not apply to the Moto Droid. There was a figure floating around on the net about how much VZW spent (I believe around $100 million?) on advertising.

They still have to pay those fees it is called the DROID Incredible

Yes but if they just advertise Droid they pay the fee for the license and anyone that comes into the store and asks for a Droid the sales person can show them all the phones in the line. It makes perfect sense.

I hear commercials on the highest rated morning show in the state (which, curiously, is sponsored by AT&T!), see them on TV, and there's even an ad in the current issue of Marie Claire - haven't seen an ad in a woman's magazine for a specific phone for awhile until this!

Pocket change.

They spent $55 billion dollars nationally since 2009 on 3g towers.

Now they want to switch to 4g already?

Ouch.

The phones are gone in the northeast, at least thats what ive heard.

However, I'm watching the Yanks game tonight, theyre in detroit, and theres a verizon sign on the right field wall that says "The NEW Droid Incredible"

So they appear to be advertising it at comerica.

And I have started to see commercials for it more often on TV. Not very frequent, but starting to pick up I think. In upstate NY at least.
