You could also visit your carrier. There is likely someone there who has done it before and can easily do it.
Carrier says return the phone to moto. Moto will replace only with a refurbished phone. My very last resort. Thx.

Good idea but concerned about creating a short circuit as not sure how to disconnect battery. I wish a knew more about hiw the micri sd card is retained. Thx.Can you get a couple long-bladed exacto knives over or under it and then pop it out? They should be thin enough to get between the card and chassis. Just a thought...

I went to one Verizon store and there was no help. I went to another Verizon store (that I had never been to before) and one of them fished it out for me. He knew exactly what he was doing and had done it a number of times in the past.
