So is it not possible for those getting the update to somehow extract it and link it for everyone?
Follow along with the video below to see how to install our site as a web app on your home screen.

Gotcha, I was talking about the 3D gallery mention in the first version.
I also see that the mention of the keyboard under voice to text is gone. I guess they are just saying that voice to text has new support now.
wouldn't that be the pharmacist?
No word back from the Doctor? (rxfilr)?
Or perhaps hes a pharmacist.
So when someone does get the OTA how hard is it for them to get it from the phone to us for download?
Isn't that what Gallery is? On my Eris I didn't have an app called "Gallery" it was called "Photos".
The Gallery that everyone's talking about is totally different than the Photos. It's based on CoolIris and is pretty dang neat. Send me a PM and I can tell you how to get it.
I did the checkin thing and about ten minutes later I get the little icon in the notification bar and I was like "I can't believe it! The OTA!" pull down the menu bar and it just says "Checkin success" click on it and nothing happens. Me = Sad now. Haha
Are you talking about the apk that andrizoid released here a few days ago?
Isn't that what Gallery is? On my Eris I didn't have an app called "Gallery" it was called "Photos".
Yes, but it's been around longer, I've had it for a couple of months now. Earlier it had a problem with rotating the screen while using it, but that was fixed with the V3 update.
I understand what you are saying. I am just pointing out the removal of "3D".
It took you 10 minutes to get that stupid notification. I did the checkin thing and it took a couple seconds to get a notification. Made my heart skip a beat when I saw it. I was like "IT WORKED!!!!". Haha, I'm just trying to be patient though. We'll all have it by the end of the week I'm sure. I remember the last update, I literally got it the morning it was supposed to go out.
I was hit by a van when I was younger, since then I'm not really good at comprehending things...be patient.

Ok so what you and I are talking about is this 3d Gallery thing right?
Could someone possibly make a sticky with all the links to the Nexus apps that work on the OTA 2.1? That would be freaking great. That way we all know where to get them.
i am waiting for this to change "enable Wi-Fi and wait for the update notice to appear or as mentioned above you can manually update by add steps"
HI. PLEASE KEEP THIS IN MIND.
Glad I have your attention.
This update is rolling out over a period of two weeks. Currently the OTA is being pushed to a small percentage of customers to ensure that it is absolutely stable.
"BUT I WANT IT NOW."
Ok. That's wonderful. But. The first batch that went out had a really irritating flaw where a single press... See More of the Home key would take you to the Multitasking screen (the one you get to with a long-press currently) - and a long Home press would open the multi-window view. That is not how it is supposed to function.
So, on the support end, HTC and VZN will be listening to ensure that those receiving the update are doing well -- and if there isn't a massive influx of customer support issues (which there do not appear to be presently), the OTA will continue to roll out over the next two weeks.
It appears that those with R1 and R2 of the leaked 2.1 will be able to update without a problem. Two that I know of (one with R1, the other with R2) both received OTA messages -- so you can at least find some reassurance in that. R3 came out at the last minute -- so I'm unsure if those who did that update will get the message.
Keep in mind if all else fails, the update will be available on the PCD website. PCD is the primary distributor for CDMA HTC phones (since HTC does not sell directly to the public). The website for that is PCDPhones.com. You will have to run the RUU update utility via USB -- but it's pretty simple.
I guess the point of this is:
Have patience. It's coming. It isn't worth pacing the floor over. Things are snappier. You have Navigation. You have voice-to-text. You have access to a prettier Marketplace with the rest of the applications you could not find previously (1.6 - 2.1 apps).
Patience. It's worth it. Promise.
