Help Slow LTE speeds.

But thank you very much for your help
Well the parches im talking about are OTA n what they do its to slow you down... What we are working it to bring speed back... You can try by using wcdma (hspa+) when inside a building so u dont get to LTE band12 n outside just try to enable IPv4 only on ur apn so you can stay on LtE band4. Its lot faster...

Thank you very much. I apologize for the misunderstanding.

I think modifying my apn to IPv4 was the answer to my issue.

I downloaded LTE Discovery, and I've been on Band 4 for the entire time I've been awake. This is without editing my apn settings. After I saw your response about band 4, i downloaded Discovery, and I have stayed on band 4 the entire time. Still turtle speeds compared to my previous phone.

I was wondering if anyone knows if there is a way to select basebands? and if there is a way to access hidden menu. Tried launcher shortcuts and quickshortcut but said it required special permissions. 277634#*# i used in the dialer to lock lte, but what i really need to do is switch to band 12 . Im rooted with T-Mo Stylo.

Not sure how current/up-to-date this info is ,but, are you in a Band 12 area:

Yes, i am in a band 12 area. Just switched to the stylo from a samsung galaxy avant. Switching bands was just entering a dialer code. Would be nice if the stylo had the option. I cant find any info online anywhere.

Since you're in a covered area, what I'd do is unroot (temporarily, of course) & call T-Mobile & put it on them, ask why you're not getting band 12.
Perhaps there's maintenance/issues they're not aware of.
According to this link:

The Stylo is ready for band 12 out of the box,so,if you're in a coverage area,it seems the ball is in their court to get it going.
Perhaps they'll offer to replace your handset if all else fails.

Went through all that already. They were no help. Talked to multiple reps , is there any dialer code menus for the stylo? All i needed on my last phone was a dialer code.

No its no dialer code for it... All new devices are band12 capable for e.g. metro, tmo are band 2,3,4 and now 12 for LTE. Your phone will continuously scan for the strongest signal. For you to catch band 12 need to be in a lower frequency range. Now if you lock you radio to be only in band 12 it would not work out that range. You will become a caveman again. LOL. Now it its a way but you most need to know how to work with QSPT n QXMD to get it going. Here its an example of what im talking about http://androidforums.com/index.php?posts/7071580

Oh ok. On my galaxy avant i use to dial *# 2263# for RF Band Selection menu, and switch between and lock band 12 and 4 whenever i wanted or chose for it to auto pick. Was hoping there was that type of menu on this lg device. I think i found it using activity shortcut, but it says i dont have permissions to open it. Im not good with QSPT n QXMD , so hopefully someone will find a way to open up the hidden menu.

Yes i found it too long time a go that how i went into the search to enable other bands setting are there for the VZ and ATt versions...

I made a thread , someone told me to try shortcut master lite(root). The app worked perfectly now i can switch between the 2 bands.
I checked the app out n yes it brings band changer plus i found the UA string settings ... I'll need a good or better handeler UA to test... Which device y@ll recommend?

This can alleviate the issue with tethering ;):D:cool:

@t12b25 lets start like this...
*Are you rooted?
*Have you done any tweaks to build.prop?
If not
1*Go to dialer and dial 277634#*#
2* Go to ANT setting make. Sure it says calibration ok
3* Go to RECEIVE DIVERSITY .. Click on both ant.radios
4* PHONE WILL REBOOT...
"""" Now for this to work make sure you have control over your apps if its apps running notifications background ... Just turn them off dont be so lazy to check them manualy... LoL... Having to many apps runing their notifications in background will slow down you... ,""" Hopefully works... For you... Noi you are rooted let me knw.
supposed to disable them? they were already ON. mine rebooted after turning first one off. idk. restarting and turning other off.

That turn on radio antena calibration scanner making radio more wide in receiver/transmitter RX n TX ... But our issues its the band12 situation... As not been strong (fast) enough...

Due to the fact the our carrier its trying to reach more areas instead of speed.

Sorry to bump this topic, I just wanted to see if people are still having issues with LTE band 12 (T-Mobile) slow data speed, as I am currently.
I have a Nexus 6 device and recently moved to an area in southwest WA state that is out of reach of LTE band 4 coverage, but has decent enough band 12 reception (LTE Discovery reads -101.0 dBm).
My data transfer rates seem to barely surpass 60kB/s and a speed tests range from 1-1.5Mbps.
If I go around the corner to band 4 coverage those speeds increase tenfold.
I tried removing the hipri APN but didn't notice an improvement.
Does anyone know if T-Mobile is planning on improving band12 or is my situation an isolated case and I'm screwed?
Thanks for any replies
