T-Mobile Contract Loop hole.

I'm a T-Mo customer. I've been for 7 years. However, ever since Sprint's new campaign I've waited for T-Mobile to have a comparable rate.
See I fall in the 1700 to 2200 minute gap. With the new rates T-mo goes from 1500 to Unlimited. I don't want to pay more for unlimited because I have no need. I also do not want to pay for overage.
So today I called in and told them I had 4 lines and 1 was under contract until next year.
They said that was accurate. So what I did was switch to the no contract 1500 mins EVERYTHING PLUS for $80. The other two lines are $20 ea. for unlimited txt. However, I told them I'm doing this to cancel next month as I'm going with Sprint. I told them based on my readings there shouldn't be a termination bill once I call when my bill closes. They said I was correct.
So, for anyone in a similar situation you might want to try this escape hole in the new plans.
However, this only works for people with less than a year on their contracts.

I worry about you. It is clearly spelled out in "TINY TYPE" on their site that doing what you did, switching from contract plan to Plus, your current contract is in place until it runs out and THEN your new non-contract terms take effect. Meaning you can save money now, if you would from changing plans, but you can't leave the contract you agreed to until it really runs out or your pay a termination fee.

They aren't fools. Every customer they have today is under contract.

However there is a transfer fee they charge if you are under contract which they waved.
Secondly, by being in the EVEN MORE PLUS. The understanding of accepting this new plan stipulates that there are no contract terms. And it supersedes any previous contract arrangement you had with them.
Since they are the ones placing you in the new pricing plan.
Call and ask.

I have been with t-mo for 4 years without a contract.

I do the pay as i go thing. Unlimited messaging, unlimited internet and 1000 minutes. Little under $90 a month.

I also got my G1 last October for $149 without doing a contract.
 
I just did it. I was on the loyalty plan with unlimited everything which totaled like $84. Got the new unlimited plans and my bill is $80. No contract at all just a small activation fee of $35 for the new phone. Just did it 2 days ago.
 
I saved 35 dollars a month by switch my and my girlfriend over...and we have 500 more mins the before so im cool with it. Oh and for all of you who may care. I did the math and if you choose the no contract plan purchasing the phone at full price still saves you money in the long run.
 
Watch out though, my family plan was changed to more minutes. T-mobile put plus one year on the contract. My original two year is up now, but I can't terminate a line until the plus one year is ticked off.

I can still get a new phone subsidized of course.

This is what I have been told by instore personal: you can switch to the newer plans, but the term of your existing contract is in effect.
 
That made a very tight gantry and the X axis was a dream, the Y axis was tougher. We quickly found that keeping it square was difficult. Luckily, we had lots of linear rails

Wrong, wrong, and wrong! ROB, if this would be true, everyone who activated before the EM+ launched could change to the new plans and then cancel their contract... Hmmmm, does this even sound remotely accurate?? TMO wouldn't start no contract plans with the intention of letting everyone out of their contract...

They let me do it. I will cancel with them in 2 wks
 
I already posted my opinion and don't want this to turn in a mean spirited direction. Please post back here in a few weeks and let us know how it went.
