best buy now accepting pre orders!

Dont expect any Best Buy to have a "demo" before launch. I cant remember any phone that we actually had an activated one to play with before it was released.

at my local best buy got there at 9:45 about 8 people showed up after me
so i didn't feel too crazy....
got signed up 1st in line with a 9:00 am appointment for june 4th to get my evo!
sometimes it's good to be first...

still gonna go in on the 3rd.... never know....

and now the wait begins in earnest...

Pre ordered 2 phones. Inititally they weren't sure you could pre-order yet. But once they figured it out they tried and the system screwed it up. All in all I ended up walking out with copies of the pre order form and a $100 gift card.

I did mine. Representative at best buy said there was no mail in rebate as usual and gave me a page with the pre order info with upc code. Also got a gift card for the deposit.

I was the first on the list and only person to have come in for it. Only getting one device my wife will inherit my hero now that sprint is charging an extra ten dollars per phone.

I was told by my local Best Buy to come back at 3pm. Guy didn't know anything about it. System said no pre orders until 3pm. No one else had asked about it before noon so i was the only one today so far. Guess I have to go back. Damn...

I just called my Best Buy and I was told I would get the gift card when I came in to the store to pick up the EVO.

Anyone preorder via best buy who doesn't qualify for a 2 year upgrade? (I used mine in december for the hero :( ) I'm curious how much it costs via best buy? Would I still get the instant rebate making it $350?

Technically the MIR does NOT apply if you are ineligible for an upgrade (like me). Confirmed that with Sprint reps this morning.

I would presume that Best Buy will therefore NOT honor the Instant Rebate since I would not be re-updating my contract (no point since I'm not eligible for an upgrade discount).

There is nothing to agree with. Sprint Mail In Rebates never have and never will be valid on anything except a full eligible upgrade or new line. (Qualifications: Former Sprint Store Manager and Best Buy Mobile employee now)

From another redundant thread

You will NOT get the 100 instant. Expect the full retail price of the phone AT BEST BUY to be 600 or 700. Best Buy charges more for outright sales of phones in exchange for not mailing in rebates. (ie the pre is still 749 outright at best buy whereas sprint has it for 549)

That's not true. I upgraded my girlfriend's phone when she only qualified for the $75 (1 year) upgrade and got the mail in rebate as well.

I will say that 90% of them WILL get declined. I have seen the 1 year upgrade get the rebate processed on occasion though. But i wouldnt expect to actually get it, At least not without a fight.

You just said it, she qualified for an upgrade credit - therefore she can get an MIR.

If you are NOT eligible for any kind of upgrade, then you cannot cash in on the MIR as well.

do you not pay attention the phone is only 450 off contract why would you pay 600-700?

Do you not pay attention. Best Buy charges more than the Sprint retail for OUTRIGHT PURCHASES.

I can go through the Sprint Website and see that the BEST BUY pricing is normally about 200 dollars more for EVERY phone that Best Buy sells.

I am a current Sprint customer eligible for an upgrade. If I do it via Best Buy, and i'm not happy with the EVO, can I still take advantage of Sprint's 30-day guarantee?
