Root Just throwing this out there: Cm13 for g2 mini sources

Can these CM13 rom updates be dirty flashed ok or is everyone fresh installing then re-configuring everything all over again ?

It can be dirty flashed but some apps will disappear and sometimes things you've flashed for example xposed. If you're flashing the synced one don't flash the qremote zip it'll mess with your phone.
 
I continue to have problems with Here Maps stuttering/freezing on any of the CM13 builds . I keep getting ANR's errors with HERE maps. Google Maps seems to work fine. For those encountering battery drains with NFC since it could not be removed from the build while compiling , I will suggest getting System app remover to uninstall it and save to recycle bin instead of completely deleting the apk. I would probably recommend you have no foreground app running when you do this if not you will get a never ending error of " NFC has stopped working". Reboot after and all should be fine . None of the apps that I use have any problems running after removing it. Anyway main aim is to prevent battery drain since NFC will no longer be powered on.

It's not that I couldn't remove it, I purposely left it in there. This is a development thread and I released a test build so that people can look into the issue and try to fix it.

I've synchronized with the latest CyanogenMod sources. I don't know how to explain this any further without repeating myself. None of the devs for this phone (that I know of) code for CyanogenMod. We're pulling their source and adding configuration that allows our phone to work.

lights.zip is for anyone who's building the ROM from source. If you're not building, don't worry about it.

If updating, just flash it followed by your APN, and then wipe cache and dalvik. Reboot.

If doing a clean install, wipe cache, dalvik, system, and data. Flash this first, then gapps, then APN, and reboot.
 
runing this latest version cm-13.0-20160611-UNOFFICIAL-x5.zip and on 2 different Volts just noticed Skype crashes on both even with a fresh Skype install ? anyone else have this problem ? is there a setting I'm forgetting about ?

I can try looking into it if you can grab a logcat for me.
 
have never used logcat is that an app ? if so which one is easiest to use? and then how to use it do I clear log then try to run Skype then copy the logcat to you ? thanks

there's a lot of complaints about permissions in there. please go into settings, apps, skype, permissions, switch all of them on, reboot, and try again. that might fix it, but if it doesnt the new log will at least be easier to read.

Later on skype crashes due to an issue with a library that comes with the app, so I'm inclined to believe that the permissions are at fault. I'll do some more research on this when I have the chance.
 
Well I flashed the 06112016 zip & I've got 4G for the 1st time in 8 months! Only this g I notice is I can't pull down my status bar?

And now I've lost my lockscreen!! LOL I really don't wanna reflash the ROM due to I don't wanna lose 4G!!! Anyway please is there a better build or is this the latest greatest!!! Well as always I totally appreciate all you Devs. have sacrificed & done for the Volt root community! Thank You All!

Whats weird is that all my other 70+ apps work fine whether from play store or not. Is anyione with this latest CM13 able to use Skype ? Would like to know that so we don't chase a ghost.

The 425 build is the best one so far. Is very stable with little bugs. The best one which is synced up doesn't work that good at all. At least on my end it had a lot of bugs as well as a lot of shutdowns.

I agree, I don't recommend any of my builds for a daily driver, daily use should be on the 4/25 build. That said, it won't get any better without feeding me logs of the issues experienced. The only issues I've personally experienced are
  • stuck nfc battery drain
  • rotation stops working after camera use
  • occasional lock-up using maps
