Help Update android OS

Ive been looking all over I'm trying to update my phones OS to android 4.4 or higher but I haven't found anyway to do it. I've tried the system update tool and hit online update but that didn't work. I have a Huawei Ascend Mate 2 and my current android OS is 4.3. If anyone could point me to how to update it and clear instructions on how to do it that would be awesome.

We do have an Huawei Ascend Mate 2 area here at AF that you could visit or post in (or I could move your thread to there if you'd like) that is probably your best bet for finding out if an update is in the cards for your device.

I've looked on xda and the sites kinda confusing to navigate and I couldn't find the exact thing I needed. I found stuff about android 4.4 but nothing concrete on how do update to it.
