iPhone 3GS user about to switch...

What's good people!

I've been an iPhone user since the first day, almost 3 years ago and really never expected to switch. That is, until I saw this new EVO! I'm blown away with it and decided to give Android a shot. I've always liked the direction Android was going in (always hated Windows Mobile) and this is their first phone I ever considered.

One of the things I'm most interested in is Androids music interface. How is it? Is it as good as the iPod on the iPhone? This is really important to me because I have thousands of songs on my iPhone and listen to them all the time and it works flawlessly.

So, what can I expect?

I have used both, and from my experience the only difficulties you may have is with song titles (if you download) and album art. Album art is simple using iTunes with your iPhone/iPod. When I had my Hero I had a lot of problems with album art....but then again my entire music library consists of downloaded music...so that could be the reason.

Other than that, the interface is nice and not complicated, you should be fine

I've had both and I definitely prefer the iPod feature on the iPhone; however,! the HTC Sense or Vanilla Android music player is absolutely fine, you will not miss your iPod.

I would think the Iphone would win in this category because apple has so much music in the portable music market. You shouldnt have an issue though with playing your music off of the evo, it should work fine.

I can see apple going after the developers legally. But I hope I can get this app before it happens (if ever it happens).

I tried to search "RockOn" in appbrain but could not find that music player, am I doing something wrong or is it just up right now?

It looks awfully nice.

Did you look at how expensive the memory cards are for the Evo? Just curious. I just had a bit of sticker shock (obviously coming from not having to buy a card at all w/the iPhone)

16gb card run from $40-$100 depending on what class it is (most around $50-$65), only the 32gb card is REALLY expencive b/c they JUST came out over the past few months, expect those prices to go down as they become more widely available from more companies

They would lose. Apple's lost every single legal case regarding "look" and "feel"

i prefer apples music interface way more. I have the hero and i use my Ipod touch for all things music. The HTC Sense music player isnt bad and its nice to have a widget but it just isnt as smooth as the ipod.

I just downloaded btunes and it is very nice. Love the look and feel much snappier than the stock player

i never did like apple to much, even though i had a couple iphones in the past. i didnt care for them. plus i had to unlock it for tmobile. i can see verizon revamping it a little once they get there hands on it. gotta love my android lol.

Two things I really like about the iPhone music app. Search and on the go play list creation and save. Do the these programs allow for this. I'm new to android...would you just use the os search?

btunes is pretty decent, although I would make a few changes myself:

BIGGER control buttons.

The camera button to switch songs is nice... definate keep.

It needs ability to edit ID3 tag... this is a MUST!

Album art (although I don't use it, much. Waste of space IMO) sucks.

I'll post more findings as I become acquainted with it.
