2.1 OTA link!

Uh oh (sorry about triple posting).. my browser detects "untrusted," something's been wrong at that site.

I don't advise anyone to use that link.. :(

Yeah, that's what firefox here at work is telling me.

And it's very weird that it is labeled as "desire".

I copy/pasted into the browser from the first link and got Chrome's redirect warning, then got file not found, then I did the same with Frisco's link and it started downloading. I have that Zip.... so the question is do you throw that in the root of the sd card and do the same as previous leaks??

The whole link still isn't "linky".

Bueller.... bueller.......

I don't advise anybody to go to that link.

However, non-"linky" links can be copy and pasted into your browser.

My browser reports very few suspicious sites; the link above is reported as such.

same, google chrome reported security issue.

Those of you deciding to take it from that link, I'm hoping you have virus software and anti-adware.

From the phone? Well, good luck (I'm very cautious about those things.. ymmv ;)).

The MR2 update from January was also labeled Desire_C (the RUU file inside the zip folder)

My brother registered his phone on the HTC website (I think it was there) and I remember him asking me about it saying something about Desire. Not sure what it means...

The warning is simply a secure certificate warning. If you remove the "s" from https://, the warning will go away. It has nothing to do with the file, and everything to do with the URL.

I realize this is my first post, but I have been reading here for months. IT degree and 10 years in the business. My educated guess as to the certificate warning is because the URL is being stated as https when most likely it doesn't need to be and so your browser is expecting a security certificate but isn't receiving one.

If you remove the S, the file will download without any warning from your browser.

With that said, I may no promises or assurances. Just an educated guess. Have a nice day.

*EDIT Update* Take the time to register and I get taken out in posting first. Haha. Take care.

I'd wait for the OTA, if I were you.

However I'm thinking it should be run as per instructions for the leak, posted in the sticky in this Eris forum.

this! since this is OTA it could have to be in a certain folder, nobody really knows but it could work the same way the leaks work.

Hey guys, I went an logged into his account on the HTC Community website. It lists his phone S/N then under that it says model #: DESIRE#C-R1 . Don't know if that means anything??
