I saw an unboxing of the HD2 (which is obviously not an EVO) and it came with a silicone skin. I have NOT seen/heard anything about the EVO coming with a case. What stuff comes in the box? Is there a case? what..

I have seen a few in the afternoons. Its funny you mention sports because the first one I saw was during "Around the Horn" on ESPN I think it was monday.
When I see them often is when I am watching Adult Swim. I guess they figure those guys are more likely to run out and buy the phone.
Sounds like they are only doing preliminary advertising then. Probably want to get the stock of Droids out first.
But then again, it could be pointless to try and advertise the Incredible if Sprint does a full blown advertising plan for the EVO.
Cheaper plan(Even with the 10+), better specs, 4G, where available and with that add in VOICE+Data....its like the Incredible is the poor mans EVO, except you are paying more for its services.
So I preordered my evo last night and I have to say I'm pretty dissapointed in Sprints marketing. I was third on the list and I got to BB around 6 pm. The one thing I couldn't believe was there was not a single promotional item for the evo in BB. Not a single poster, sign, cardboard standup, display model (real or dummy), nothing. Sprint sends a few tweets and one lousy email out and bb sends a second email. Thats it?!?! I'm no marketing expert but I would have done a little more. Maybe sprint has something up there sleeve or maybe since Jackson said the marketing was going to be out of control I was expecting more.
Also, have we found out what comes in the box with the evo? Any ideas what accessories will be available at release? I've never pick up a phone on release day so I have no idea what to expect.
im gonna try anyways. i'll let you know how it goes. ::crosses fingers::
Thanks polky and swnic. Well shit happens thats for sure. Just gotta make sure that when you clean it up it doesn't leave a stain.Welcome back TS...I managed to avoid a ban or new infractions while you were gone. Hell, I think I even managed to win over the spirits of a few mods...sorry that the shit storm had to go down while you were gone. Totally not cool...not cool at all. I hope the City of Lights treated you swell.

Thats what I like. Those that admit when they were incorrect about something and are not afraid to say it. You my dear are classy. Props.I got soo many things wrong, it is not even funny.
I can only do my best, and I guarantee that I will be wrong in the future.
rest of quote edited out for space reasons..
But I will promise you that I will give my best faith effort.

someone please let me know if they know the answer.
If you currently have an ERP plan and you're currently out of contract, however, your eligibility date isn't til Nov, would you be able to cancel your account and then re-sign with Sprint for the ED plan on a regular non ERP account? Yes, I know you will lose your number. Is this possible or you still have to wait the 90 days to re-sign with Sprint?
Thats my wife's current situation. They only renewed her for 1 yr so she has been out of contract since Jan, but her eligibility date isn't til Nov of this year. She has called retention 3 times already and was told its not possible to move her date up. I don't understand Sprint sometimes, she wants to move to a regular account and pay MORE per month to Sprint and Sprint is refusing. No wonder they're losing customers.
...words...

just talked to and account service supervisor who got on the line because his representative couldn't solve the problem.
seems like the representatives at sprint have been very trained and argues extensively in regards to the sprint evo 4g if you ask anything about it. basically it's a no go for me to push upgrade earlier.
July 1st is when i can get the 4g (and those aren't even for my lines, for family members) . f u sprint! LOL
went from teir1 to tier2 customer service, then to tier3 since the Rep jumped on the line!

wow, was just calculating and found out how much i was paying over the course of 2 yrs.
$7 a line (insurance) = $168 x 3 lines = $504 just for insurance alone
$10 a line (evo tax) = $240 x 3 lines = $720 just for evo tax!
over course of 2 yrs that's $1224 of free money for Sprint! LOL
no thanks... The best dession I ever made was to not go with the Best Buy $10 BS and go with the $8 sprint plan A.)saved me $2 a moth or $24 per year and B.) God the Pre's hardware was so bad that the $8 plan paid for itsself 100 times over.... Do the plan, it's not free money persay it's a savings account they dip into for crappy hardware issue... I personally have no issue with the charge.
And the EVO tax... I called and made it to retention and they simply asked if I would renew my contract for 2 years and if I did I would get a $10 service credit .... that point is now moot. Hey HTC..... compute that with no insurance at full price...no thanks... Need I also remind you guys... Sprint does a buy back program. HTC HERO will be bought back at approximately $80 while the Pre goes for $60... or try your odd's with craigslist. I will sell both on craigslist for about $125... I do it every year!

I actually got an even better deal through the company I insure my home with, I will pay $30 per year ( phone worth $600, $5 per $100 worth of coverage = $30 per year) and they cover everything and even some of the instances have no deductible. The phone's 1 year warranty covers all of the possible defects for the first year not the TEP or BB plans and my insurance policy will cover everything else, loss, theft, damage etc. I advise you all to check in to this as well as it's a pretty big difference in cost for the year.
First time poster here...been following for quite a while now...
If you go through your home insurance be very careful. I had renters insurance and added insurance for my laptop - ~$60/year. It was great, my cat spilled water on my laptop and i submitted a claim, boom $1300 check in mail within the week. Before I submitted my claim, I asked my rep 2 or 3 times, this will not affect my insurance on my car or apartment. He said it shouldnt seeing that is was my first claim and such a small one at that. So, year later, bought a house, and guess what, my house insurance did not qualify for discount as i submitted a claim for the laptop.
Moral of story, be careful when dealing with insurance companies.
my hero is going for $145 on ebayHey HTC..... compute that with no insurance at full price...no thanks... I got it last monthquick question... unrelated to anything here... Does sprint still offer the $70 dollars credit per line when you choose to renew your contract?
would i be able to request for $70 dollar credit (per line) for contract extension if i swap out 3 SERO lines to one EPRP Family Plan? Would I still be able to keep my $150 upgrade credit (for each line)?I got it last month
What if Sprint were to say drop the price of their Everything plans by $10 and then charged everyone with an Evo $10 for the Premium Data plan. Would that make everyone happy?
Just sayin.....
Received both of my Type D micro HDMI cables. Yes TWO cables. Each one is $8.40 so don't buy them at Best Buy for 70 bucks. $27 including shipping from Arrow Electronics - North American Components (NAC)
Here's the part details: Molex Connector Part Number - 0687860003
Here's the cable:
