Facebook pop up issue after reading article

I know. Wrong forum. Can't be helped. Hey on Facebook, there's a rumor that Sylvester Stallone died (I guess these kind of obituaries are getting really common).
Before I knew about these (last week it was Will Smith's son that died) being nothing more than stupid rumors, I clicked on something so I could read about Sly's death.
Now, all kinds of stupid shit is popping up, and it's making it look like I'm making all kinds of stupid comments about these stupid articles, like me offering condolences to the Stallone family.
How in the heck are they able to do that, and how do I stop it?
It's making me look like a real idiot to my FB friends.
Please advise.
Thank you.

Of all the years I've been in these forums, I don't think I have ever seen one single question about Facebook from anybody about anything.
Does everybody that uses FB already know absolutely everything about it and have no questions?

Is it taboo in here?

Do the Mods all hate FB so much that they instantly delete any and all posts pertaining to FB?

I have a question about Messenger (how do I turn off the notifications that tell me every time somebody I know is live on Messenger? Why the hell would I care? I'm especially pissed because, as I never even use it, I completely uninstalled it. Yet I still get that stupid little red dot within FB telling me that someone I know is currently using Messenger. What business is it of mine that someone is chatting to someone over FB that doesn't even involve me in any way? It would be like me getting notified every time someone I know picks up their phone to call somebody. It's just one stupid little red dot that I don't even see unless I open FB, but its the principle of the thing. And it's got me so irritated, because it's so stupid, I'm ready to completely uninstall FB because of it. The only reason I'm even on FB is to keep up with all the patients and staff I met at the Spinal Cord Injury Rehab Center in Omaha (QLI) I spent 6 months at. Other than that I think social media is the biggest waste of a life imaginable) but I'm almost afraid of breaking some AF rule if I ask it, so I won't.

Maybe someone in here can Messenger me Mark's phone number and I can just ask him...

Facebook is your enemy... The app, Messenger, it's all one convoluted mess to pry into everyone's privacy.
Think of "Big Brother" is watching you and that's about it. There are no settings to turn off Messenger, nor to stop the constant ads within the app. Try using it from a browser instead...

Oh, there is one setting that takes care of Messenger's spybot fanaticism, UNINSTALL

I refuse to allow that piece of invasive crap on my phone.....
I use FB a little bit, but I have the settings on it to where it is almost useless for others to look at and see what I do in life.
the only reason I have it is some of my friends have abandoned my motorcycle forum and now only use FB to click on the "I am here Location" button and brag about the steak or beer they guzzled down....

I am getting to be a bit tired of it all, if it weren't just for 2 or 3 close people to me, I would not even have it.
Most of my use of it is from my PC browser.....
