Help DOES DROPPING OR THROWING ANY PHONE ON BED AFFECT MY PHONE?

Welcome to our AndroidForums, @AiGamer :).

I would think any verb matching "drop" or "throw" with regard to a smart phone or tablet should be avoided at all costs ;) :).

I'm sure the manufacturers do drop tests that involve hard surfaces that would be way more damaging than a (hopefully soft) bed would be.

So: "probably not" would be the answer, but why take the chance? :)

Cheers!

It does, even in a case. My HTC 10 has had a case on it since I got the pre-order. Hairline scratch around the upper right corner from doing the bed thing in a case. Still though, the stuff I see the young folks doing with cracked screens these days make me think I may be overreacting.

Geez I hope not! Every night walking into my dark room I toss my device on the bed before I turn the light on :D
So far no issues.
Once in a great while, it bounces off the bed onto the carpeted floor and I semi-cringe, but being as most beds are soft, I would think there shouldn't be an issue.
Up to you :D

So a drop from 10 inch on a prettysoft bed does not affect it right?

You are all missing the obvious. He could be a prisoner sleeping on concrete.

Or he could be Fred Flintstone sleeping on a rock.
Or aquaman sleeping with the fishes

I have no guts to do that on any of my smartphones but with my nokia feature/dumb phones like xpressmusic, 3310 and n95? FIRE IN THE HOLE!

It is a good thing to get glass protectors on phones.... Keep it a lot more safe indeed!!

OK, I have a curiosity to know if I drop my phone or throw it on my bed, will the drop damage my phone?
If you were to hit a zipper or anything else than soft it very well could hurt your phone. I put glass protectors on mine, plus a protector for my phone, that way it has extra protection.... I would not make it a happen to throw the phone though,it could bounce off and damage the phone....

I don't think it was the drop on the bed that scratched it, it was the drop from the bed to the wooden floor. I've got a semi-firm mattress. It was firm when I bought it but it's been quite a few years since I got a new mattress.
