Does anyone know if Google is working on the assistant to read text messages aloud?

I've tried installing Commandr but doesn't seem to fix it.

Just want to get the full use out of my Pixel XL

I don't have the answer to your question. I use Tasker to do this job and do not have your phone to validate that it will work for you. The Profile/Task is ...

It is great while driving. If an SMS comes in it is read to me and if it can't wait I park and reply.
