Here you go... I'm logged in too! This can happen if you're not logged in iirc. Are you sure you were logged in? Can you post a screenshot please?
I'll move this to the Suggestion & Feedback forum so our Admin can take a look.
I thought that wasn't normal... every time I come in, it's a different ad, like this oneYeah, that shouldn't happen, sorry!
I've alerted Phases, hopefully he'll be able to sort.
Yes, we are trying a lot of new things right now, including enabling ads for members. It's just a test run at the moment, bear with us.
The feedback IS desired - so I'll be passing it along and making note of how you feel (and anyone else).
Course all that said.. it's can't really be all that bad, right? I mean, ads ARE what pay for the site, truth be told. Literally that's the only revenue stream we have right now and that first post ad is a big one. (Though, a fair one to see if we can remove for members.) We don't ask much, just to be polite, help out where you can - and enjoy the resources provided
We do plan to bring the premium usergroup back, btw, for those wondering. It removes ads. (VIP). The usergroup exists and some are in it, but currently it is not being promoted.
I'm only seeing an add in the OP. Is that the way this works? I normally run with an ad blocker but I turned it off to test.
I will say the full volume autostarting video adds that overlay the whole page will turn me off.
I saw and expected all the other ones. I meant the ones in the posts. FWIW, the ads could tell I'd been shopping for a new carrier as I had Mint Sim on top and Sprint on the bottom.
I understand ads are required and needed fund for the forum, but NOT in with my posts! You will run off some members doing that. At the top and sides of the forum is fine. You already have some on the right side of forum. The feedback IS desired - so I'll be passing it along and making note of how you feel (and anyone else).

I tend to agree it may hurt traffic. So far I am only seeing it in the first post on the page as far as in thread ads go. Is that the limit? This seems less intrusive than Facebook or Twitter which includes multiple ads in your feeds.I understand ads are required and needed fund for the forum, but NOT in with my posts! Specifically it was a Cadillac ad if that helps. For example, auto playing video? I will specifically point that post out to them.
Gmash said it best. We can't be the only ones who feel this way about this.Having ads in the posts is too much. I've been biting my tongue about those and the ones that cover the whole page, but it really does just make me want to leave every time I see it.

Edit: And if it helps more, those aren't in my plans or budget.![]()

Well, it looks like this is a trial to see what works and what doesn't.Gmash said it best. We can't be the only ones who feel this way about this.
I owned and ran a Corvette forum for over 10 years and when I started putting more and more ads at the top and sides, (never in the posts) I started getting complaints and losing members. Extra $$$ was nice, but wasn't worth it. Now the forum only has one large ad at the top.
I will repeat, I don't mind the ads to the sides, those don't bother me at all.

Had you looking to buy a GM car at any time? Google searches, apps installed from Play Store, etc.
That's correct, the first post, which in this case happened to be mine. I don't go to Facebook anymore as they have grossly overdone ads there. I'm not leaving here just yet as I like this forum and have been here a few years now. Just irritated mostly.I tend to agree it may hurt traffic.
