So much lag between incoming call and notification...

Running leak 2.1v3. Recently I've been missing a lot of calls and I've been wondering why, I decided to test call myself using my house phone and calling my Eris. When I called, it rang probably 5 times before my phone received the call and the ringtone went off. Anyone know the problem? Me missing a lot of calls is getting annoying.

I've had this happen occasionally. It's not all the time. I even lowered my slot cycle, but it didn't matter.

I lowered the slot cycle on mine and it made all the difference in the world. It's now on one, and I get two rings max on the other end before it rings on mine. I highly recommend doing that to see what happens. If you don't know how to do it, it's:

##778, call
Choose Edit Mode
Password 000000 (6 zeros)
Then choose "Modem Settings"
Slot Cycle Index is the first choice, click on it, and change it to 1
Then hit Menu, and select "Commit Modifications"
If you don't do that, it won't change anything.
The phone will restart, and you're done.

BTW, I did this when I was on 2.1V1, then V2, and now V3, and I didn't have to change it again, it stayed the same.

Hopefully this works! If not thanks anyway though man, appreciate the help. Will post back if it works or not just incase anyone else is having this problem.

I started another thread on this last night and I have changed my slot cycles and it still doesn't help....think it has to maybe deal with voicemail settings?? I'm about ready to take my Eris back...

Anytime. It helped me, so I'm passing it along. It also worked on the wife's Incredible.

I just realized I had this problem starting the other day. Well, the other day is when I changed a few ringtones. I'm wondering if you'll have this problem if you switch back to default ringtones. I'm going to try it, too.

Apparently it's worked for me because my phone rings for awhile before it goes to voice-mail so it's worked. Try it if you still have this problem.

I have KayosFroyo v32 and when I dial ##778 it rings and I get a verizon message saying that the number is not valid. Did you do something different?

No, I just did that on the 2.1 leak, but there's an issue with Froyo roms that won't allow it to work. I'm on KaosFroyo too, and it won't work for me either.

Thanks for the quick response. yeah, I just read that there isn't an EPST.apk that works on Froyo yet, so the programming codes do not work.

about to flash v35.1 ... see what happens.

You'll like 35-1, and if you're coming from V34 you don't have to wipe your phone, I didn't and I'm not having the issues that everyone else on XDA seems to be having.

Do a Nandroid backup of Kaos Froyo, flash (or do a Nandroid restore of) one of the 2.1 ROMs - Plain Jane, say - and do the programming there. Then Nandroid restore back to Kaos and the slot cycle programming will stick.

Hell of an Idea!
