has anyone had a problem with text messages not sending on this ROM? I am using handcent and haven't really noticed this until flashing this ROM. i know there is a known issue with mms but this seems like a new issue... thanks in advance..

I think so, though you may need to remove wireless tether first. Run this in your terminal emulator:

Code:
su
sysrw
rm /system/app/wireless_tether_2_0-pre10.apk
sync
sysro

The new wifi tether included is pretty cool. Monitors battery temperature, has bluetooth tethering (experimental)...

So far so good. Installed over V1 after removing old wireless tether, and i also installed a P3 kernel instead of one that pete recommended. Working perfect. I don't know if i'm gonna be able to get used to this new ADW Launcher though. I might have to switch back to Helix 1.

Thanks again Fab! Keep up the good work!

Yeah, ADW has some quirks also. I'll have a video up in a little while of what I believe are the "optimal" settings for ADW launcher. It really makes it much smoother and usable.

I've just been using the default app, and haven't had this issue. Could it be a Handcent thing?

Also, I've fixed video MMS in this release, which I'm very happy about.

I also held a pretty long convo with my Google voice number, just to be sure it was working fine :D

The default launcher is just Launcher.apk

This didn't work either. Is anyone aware of a way to make this rom remember default home settings?

Or, is there a way to remove the default launcher so that I only have LauncherPro on my phone?

If you have Root Explorer, you can just go into /system/app, touch the "Mount R/W" button and delete Launcher.apk.

If not, you should be able to use the script "rmlauncher" in Terminal Emulator
su
rmlauncher

and if that doesn't work, try this:

su
sysrw
rm /system/app/Launcher.apk

Installed it and liking it so far. Love the percentage in the battery icon.

Now I need to get my kernel back in there. P3 LV good choice?

I'm using P3Droid kernels now. I suggest modifying the 'pete' script so that it doesn't auto-kill setcpu. It's located in /system/xbin/

you can just remove the line that says something along the lines of
'kill com.mhuang.overclocking.apk'

I never bothered asking you why you suggested modifying this file. How come I did not need to modify the same for the BEKIT7X1000LV.zip kernel?

I think this will be another mod that will be present in the next release.

That would be great!

Also, I attempted to install the 1.2 GHz you have installed and it just would not allow the phone to reboot. I had to reinstall the previous version and then install P3Droid 1.1 GHz... but that only registers in SetCPU as 1.0 GHz. Any thoughts on what I could do to successfully install 1.2 GHz.

Lastly, between the BEKIT7X1000LV.zip and 1100_LV_Wi_USB_Tether.zip I have experienced a hike in temperature. Any thoughts?

A lot of people seem to have lower temps with the P3Droid kernels, though I have found them to be mostly similar (which makes sense, as Bekit uses P3Droid's voltage settings). You should experiment to see which one runs the coolest on your phone, as each device is different.

Now, if youf phone boot loops at 1.2GHz, there's not much to do. It just means your particular chip doesn't like that high of a frequency. Mine starts boot looping at 1.25GHz, and I know many people who can go to 1.3GHz and above.

Also, I've modified the Bekit kernels in the first post. As you can see, they now go to Mediafire. That's because they used to flash Pete's scripts with SetCPU controls built in, but I've gotten rid of that. This may also help your heat issues, since there's no butting heads between the script and SetCPU anymore.

EDIT: I just thought of something...you may be able to run 1.2GHz if you use the IV (intermediate voltage) kernel, though it will be hotter and consume more battery. I still need to convert over some more kernels (only did LV 800MHz - 1.2GHz last night)

Yeah, P3 LV will work great, as will Bekit. It's just your preference :)

I will try this tonight or tomorrow, depending on my time to install it.

What is the Kernel that loads with it? the 600MHz default one?

Hmmm... I was about to install Bekit 1.2 GHz from the first post (from Mediafire). I just want to test if the loop reboot is specific to p3droid.

So that begs the question, do I need to add the line I removed from the pete script for SetCPU?

You don't need to modify the pete script in this version anymore. I edited all those kernels in the OP to flash the premodified pete script.

Just use SetCPU as you usually would. There should be no interference from the script. Good luck :D

I'll try to get some IV and SV kernels up soon too.

This might be a dumb question but is there a difference between installing this over BB1.0 versus nexbeast 1.0???? I am currently running BB1.0 and want to install this rom.

As far as I know BB1.0 doesnt have that wireless teather apk so I wouldnt have to run that command?

Yeah, you should be OK installing this over BB, though, if you have Facebook installed, you should uninstall that, since I have made it a system app (so I could theme it).

Make a nandroid first and let me know how it goes please :)

*Also, I've added all the new IV & SV kernels, as well as 1.3GHz kernels to the OP. I also fixed the 1GHz LV link (it was pointing to 800MHz previously).

just installed over 1.0. so far, so good. any way to make the menu battery percentage show in 10% increments instead of 20%?

I don't think it's possible. I believe Fab just added the numbers to the images used. Droid, by default, does not display more than 20%.

CM can because it's a new ROM, not a ROM based on the stock.

Awesome! I take anything that makes things less complicated.

I needed it! But nothing but the M! :D

That is as far as the reboot went... Well, I will try Bekit 1.1 and see how that goes. As I noted before, P3Droid 1.1 kernel installed without any issues, however, SetCPU registers only 1.0 GHz. I went to the P3 Kernel forum and it seems to be an existing issue. No point in having 1.1 GHz if I can't overclock that high!

so i install the version 1.01 over version 1, and it worked fine. Only thing is all my apps are still on my phone, just they arent in my app tray. Any ideas how to solve this problem? also i find that i was getting less of a signal than before.

Fab, this is great as always. Installed it earlier and it seems to be working great. Also, the P3 Kernal with 1200mhz is running great now. Previously I was not able to go higher than 1100 on bekit.

One question though. Any chance you'd consider including Swype into a future release?
