Official HTC Hero 2.1 Update now (5/19) on Sprint.com

Ok, so has anyone tried to get the update? I know there is no link, but reading the page, it would appear the update will take place through using the SYNC program... I'm certainly in no rush to do it myself and won't try, I just wondered if anyone else has?

LOL thanks...

My computer won't download that ****ing program for some reason. Will we be able to just take it to a Sprint store for the update?

My understanding was that will be an option... lol, but knowing Sprint, it might be possible that they are unawares of any update they are themselves providing??? Hahahaha...

Yes. I'm a mac guy, so I called and asked if I could bring it in there for the update. To make a short story short, I've got an appointment at noon to get it done.

No, the page tells you to download HTC Sync and click Run and follow the instructions to complete the installation, i.e., the installation of HTC Sync.

THEN it tells you to go to the Sprint download site and download the RUU and gives you the instructions for how to install it, which do not include using HTC Sync in any way.

Ok it showed

Leaked download is titled:

RUU_Hero_C_Sprint_2.27.651.5_R_signed_release.exe

Official is titled:

HTC Sprint Hero MR 2.27.651.5.exe

Wonder if anythings different

Just wait for all the sheep to create 50 threads about the same thing, refusing to collaborate into one, more helpful thread, where their voices could actually help instead of cluttering and making total chaos over something so simple. I'm calling at least 25 threads being made before I get out of school at 2:00.

So now, how do I go through the process of backing up apps? Thats is the only thing I care about, since all of my contacts are synced with google.

I have read everywhere that you can't backup the free apps and the paid apps will be in your download history once 2.1 is running.
