Clearing cookies

Hello,

My Lenovo Android 5.1 tablet uses Google chrome.

After I go to "history" and click on "clear browsing data/ data/ site storage" from "all time" (i.e., inception), and check all the boxes....

..."history" will say "no history here".

Then I'll open any window, e.g., duckduckgo, and click on "history" again, and it still shows "cookies and site data" from approx 1500 sites, which is approx 100 less sites than before clearing "browsing data/ data/ site storage".
That is, it reduced "cookies and site data" from approx 1600 to 1500.
I do this once/day, and it never goes below approx 1500.
All of the other items (browsing history, cached images and files, and saved passwords) are correctly cleared to zero or almost zero.

How can I clear ALL "cookies and site data"?

Thanks,

dj

Go into each Browser setting and repeat the same process. Because it sounds as if you were in different browsers doing different things and Google Chrome is a browser of its own such as each other browser that you was using on your device.

Try going to settings>privacy>clear browsing data

Click the arrow in the upper right that says "last hour" and set to "all time"

Make sure all boxes are checked and then hit clear data at the bottom.

I did try a couple other browsers for a week or so. I will download them again and clear cookies on them. Thanks.

Oh, I thought you just cleared history in the history page.

No problem. When I wrote I "check all the boxes", I was referring to cookies and site data, browsing history, cached images and files.

Forgive my error but I meant repeat that process in each search engine settings.

I tried the following and my cookies and site data is still approx 1500...

1. Downloading Firefox browser (which I previously used for a week) and clearing all history.

2. Clearing all history in Google, Yahoo, Bing, Ask, and Aol search engines, separately...as well as duckduckgo, which isn't installed.

a) What should I try next?

b) And why does this site say my IP address is banned when I use my VPN? I tried several of my VPN's IP addresses and countries, but they are all banned,... I use vypr (golden frog) VPN.

I don't really know what else to try. Did you try also looking at the advanced tab and checking all the boxes? When you go in to the settings>privacy>clear browsing data, there's a basic tab and an advanced tab.

Maybe try that. And if that fails, maybe go into your device settings and go to apps. Click on chrome and then clear cache and clear data on the chrome app.

If that doesn't take care of it, never use chrome again. Haha.

I had already tried both basic and advanced several times.

I just tried your suggestion of clearing cache in chrome app, to no avail.

I'm not sure what you mean regarding "clear data on the chrome app".

How would I do that?

Use the Chrome web browser and its Settings.

Do you mean clear cookies and site data under history on the chrome browser? Which I do daily. Probably not.

If you mean settings and site settings in the chrome browser, I just went there and didn't see anything worth clicking on to remedy my problem.

Please clarify.
