Help HtcDesire wont turn on or charge

Ok, that doesn't tell me much. How old is the battery? I'm hoping that it's just a battery failure, but obviously hard to tell from here.

I'm really sorry to partially hijack someone's thread, but I'm in need of a confirmation...
I've had an HTC Desire 610 phone for a little over two years now. It was on 17% battery yesterday, and I put it on a charger. The light came on, everything was fine. I was trying to shut off background apps in order to reduce battery drain, but the phone was responding rather sluggishly. Thinking that a restart was in order, I went ahead and pressed the power button. I picked the restart option, and the phone powered down like it usually does.
But it never powered back on. I've tried all the power and volume button combinations. I've seen others talking about vibrations, but this phone doesn't even vibrate--it's completely unresponsive. My laptop won't recognize it when it's plugged in. The LED light won't go on when it's plugged into a charger. I don't have any tiny screwdrivers, so I'm unable to take the battery out for now.
Do I need to replace my battery? I'm hoping it's not a hardware issue, and since my phone didn't vibrate even once, let alone 5 or 7 times, it seems to be a dead battery. Am I right in my deduction? :(

Hello I have HTC desire 516 dual sim and it doesnt turn on i tried everything before like 1-2 mounths black screen and vibration but now nothing Please help me

When you say "vibration" did you notice how many times it vibrated? That can give some clues to what the problem is. But to be honest none of the possibilities are very good. If it's not responding at all now it could well be that the battery is dead (some types of hardware fault would prevent the battery from charging, and if the battery is flat it won't turn on even if plugged in).

You could try another battery, but to be honest I think the chances of fixing this without spending more than the phone is worth on repairs are not good, so I don't want to recommend you spending more money on it.

Sorry, I am extremely busy at the moment so not spending much time looking for replies (I have notifications turned off, so only see replies when I visit).

Hmm, that doesn't sound good. Continuous vibration doesn't have any particular diagnostic meaning. If it was just vibrating then I'd check out apps and settings, but combined with a black screen my guess is that it's a hardware problem. Plus there's the fact that it no longer comes on at all, which suggest that either it won't charge (a third fault) or the motherboard has died completely.

Of course it's conceivable that the vibration has stopped but the screen remains broken. You could test that by trying to power it up, give it a minute and then phone it: if it responds then it's just the screen, if not then it's probably not been able to boot.

When you tried to boot it previously did you see the splash screen at startup and then it went black, or did it just stay black? If the splash screen appeared then the display hardware works and your problem is with the android ROM. If it stayed completely black then at the least there is a problem with the display hardware (or the motherboard).

I'm afraid that I think it's probably got one or more hardware faults, but it's hard from here to say what that might be. So I think you are probably looking at either repair or replace, and if it's a serious fault (e.g. new motherboard) it's probably not economic to repair it. Has the phone suffered any mechanical damage (e.g. drops) before this started, or has it ever got wet (even if it seemed OK afterwards)?
