New sandwich ideas!

Right I need some help. I am bored to death with my sandwiches I take to work and I'm off this processed ham I use, soo I need some suggestions as to what to replace them with.

My current affair is ham, cheese, tomato and salad cream. This has to go..

Here are the conditions:
  • Must be a multi filling,
  • Not take half an hour to make,
  • Be cost efficient IE not £5 a sandwich!
Apart from that anything goes. Prize for the top answer is that warm glowy feeling you get helping a fellow droid user out. :p

Good thread, I'll be following this one.

Unfortunately I'm on the same level of inspiration as you, alternating between left-over Sunday roast chicken sandwich, and the traditional cheese and tomato. Not very exciting.

I'm not sure if these are available in the UK. These, with some lettuce and bread of your choice or tossed on a salad. Here they are about $1.25 a pouch.

I never eat lunch and only on rare occasions do breakfast. The norm is a 24 hour fast between meals. I'm pretty certain the body was not designed to consume all day long.
My wife on the other hand feels she must have her lunch that she packs daily. She quit the sandwich scene a number of years back and packs a salad instead. There are many salad variations to explore, something different, and somewhat healthy.

I agree. Look at the levels of obesity most societies in the developed world suffer from. A body doesn't need the amount of food most people consume.

Oh I like the sound of them. Did a quick search for them and nearly fell off my chair! More research needed I believe @Unforgiven :)

You know that early man did not have the time to sit down to three squares a day. :) He ate hearty when he could.
Yet they survived without engineered foods and medicines. Hmmm

Try this ...

Tuna, black olive, chopped celery, roasted red pepper on a Ciabatta roll ... and mayo is okay, but if you can get it try Wishbone Chipotle Ranch dressing for a little kick. :D
Sounds nice @lunatic59 although I have to be in the mood for olives. ;)

This is fair enough, not a huge fan of salads. Would take a nice one to convert me, although because I work 12 hour days and nights I need something filling to get me through the day. Not one to fast, I get too hangry!!:mad:
