Android Pie Color Notifications

Samsung Galaxy s9+

Got my Pie update a few days ago and the notification icons (email, text, etc.) on the phone off/always on lock screen are now the default color of the application. Example, my yahoo mail notification is purple, my gmail is red, etc. and they are difficult to see against the black screen. They used to be all white and easy to see. Can't seem to find a way to adjust this using the native settings... any ideas or solutions?

Hi there. Did you by chance ever figure this out? I'm color blind and I can no longer see the notifications after the change. I have Googled for hours and have found NOTHING. Thanks!

Have you looked under Settings | Accessibility? I see some settings for color blindness, but I'm not versed enough in the terminology to figure out what setting you may be looking for.

Hi Curtis, I've spent a lot of time on this since my original post and nothing... no solution. I'm getting used to it but can see color. I'm hopeful something will change soon that allows us to customize lock screen notifications. Fingers crossed.

Thank you for replying. Unfortunately, I have played with all those settings, and while they do change things once you're "in" the phone, they don't seem to affect the idle/off screen notifications

Bummer. I've been googling and what I'm finding is what you are finding. Samsung is getting pretty good review for the colorblind support in the OS, but I can find nothing that mentions the lock screen.

I'm facing the exact opposite problem with the Pie update (as of last night). Not sure how to change these back to coloured. I did download Good Lock and I've been messing around with those settings a lot today.

In pie go to settings>lockscreen>transparency

You can then change it to however you like

I'm having a similar problem but on a Galaxy S8. The April security update broke Night Mode and Quick Star. It used to be that notifications were all either dark or transparent depending on whether I had activated Quick Star or Night Mode at the time. But they were all consistent and either dark or transparent. However, witht the last update now I get notifications that are white even though I have night mode and Quick Star enabled. The Clock notifications, which used to be dark, are now blue. It's very frustrating and it makes both Quick Star and Night Mode pointless, since most apps don't follow it. This happens both in and outside of the lock screen.
