I was told by best buy that u can pay either buy the phone outright or do the upgrade/new line... No talk about price tho.. If rs is charging 50$ more for off contract price u can bet your bottom dollar bb will be doing the same if not more.. All the bbuys I ask tell me in the 5-600 range..

i don't think you want to use swype. i downloaded the file and wanted to install it on my evo. it gave me this:

"this input method may be able to collect all the text you type, including personal data like passwords and credit card numbers. it comes from the application swype."

you have to agree to use

can someone tell me if the "Nexus" live wallpaper is preloaded on the EVO? i saw it on an evo in a youtube video, but i wasn't sure if it was preloaded, or if he downloaded it from the market. thanks!

Stays portrait.

I sure wish more things would go landscape.

BTW, there is a desk clock app, that blacks the screen and displays the time and date..
It's landscape, and the time and date roam around the screen.

It depends whether or not the money is important to you. If it is then keep calling until you get the $10. It is based on a 2 year contract/plan renewal though and not that you are eligible for just a phone discount.

Also, the only dept. that is authorized to give account credits is the Customer Retentions/Account Services group. So make sure that's who you're talking to. Otherwise you're just wasting time.
 
Looks like the Evo won't be the only 4.3" android device for long. [edit: nevermind, it's probably 4.1"] The Moto Shadow is nearly ready for launch on Verizon:

I don't like the 16:9 screen on it though. I don't know the exact proportions of the Evo screen, but it's much squarer which I think makes more sense.

If a motorola device matched every spec of the Evo, AND it had a slide out keyboard, it would make me think twice, though I am pretty loyal to HTC at this point and pay very little in a sprint family plan. I will be happily using the Evo with a bluetooth gaming pad and maybe BT KB until the Evo Pro comes out.

If you want to know the truth, I had an Instinct and I liked the power button on it better than the one on the EVO.

Im sure theres an app or a tweak to make it go to landscape, but a good reason why they dont put it as default is that it could become annoying to have the accelerometer change the screen orientation automatically all the time. There is only certain applications that makes the g sensor useful in my opinion and those are gps, browser,videos, games and thats about it. Again it is only my humble opinion.

The most anticipated pictures. I happen to have a itouch sitting in the house that i have not opened yet. i used the itouch as a comparison with the evo. Since the itouch screen and the iphone screen is the same i think the pictures below can show you how huge the screen is. also the itouch had a sticker with the graphics of it on, i peeled it off and stick it on the evo screen for better comparison.

I think all of us that have not gotten our EVO were hopping that you were going to give us a little more feedback and info on the phone. Pictures videos :confused::confused:. Bill we are living thru you at the moment till we get ours. I would be happy to pay you what you paid for the phone and I promise everyone I would shall lots and lots of info:D. I would still like to know how loud the speaker phone was? I am sure your busy but we need our fix :o

if i compare it to a touchpro2. it's not even close to that loudness.. check my thread for info

He already posted that he'll be writing some detailed reviews and such. He also already posted that he'll be at a gathering of Evo folks in his regional area tomorrow.
