so you guys have appointments already. I called my bb this morning and they say i don't need to make an appointment. anyone else bb is like this?

Mine just said they'd call me a few days before the release date to schedule (once they have all their pre-order inventory fully in stock, which they said usually gets there 3-4 days prior to the official release date).

I guess it depends on your best buy. There are 4 within 5-10 miles of my house, so the one I chose is just the closest to my house and one of the bigger ones of the 4, so if it's a bigger BB, maybe there's not as much need to make appointments.

I called my BB today, and they're not doing appt's either. Says there wasn't enough of a demand and to come in any time on release day.

I called them about 5 days ago to see how many preorders they had and he said around 20.

Mine said I was # 20 something as well when I put my deposit down just a few days after they announced they're doing pre-orders.

They also told me they'd more than likely call on the 3rd and go down the list as first come-first served in the order sequence and set up the times when to come in and get it all bought, set up, etc. So pending other peoples' schedules I have no idea what time I'll be getting mine, yet. And they also said it'll be in 30 minute increments. We'll see how true all of this stays...

My local BB states that they will have like 25-30 EVOs. Their first wave of shipments. I'm #10 and I'm def getting one. So they say. They will be calling me on the 3rd or whenever they get it to set up an appointment.

This makes me nervous because I filled out my own flier, and I have awful handwritting. There's a real possibility they can't read my phone number. I will keep calling my BB to make sure nothing has changed.

Yeah just keep calling. Treat it like you just had a job interview. Don't wait for them to call you...you call them.

That's how mine is too. Told me that when I pre-ordreded and I called a few days ago and was told still no appts needed. They told me that as they got closer, they may start calling those who pre-ordered to set appts if they felt it necessary based off the demand they saw.

I guess they are all doing things differently. Some, like mine, set up an appointment the day I pre-ordered. Now I kind of wish I hadn't, especially if they are opening early. If they do, I hope I can go in and pick it up before I have to be at work at 9. If not, guess I'll have to wait till my 12:30 appointment. I guess it's probably better that way since I'll be watching a 2y/o and a 3y/o. If I get my EVO before I go over, those kids are on their own! LMAO

The store in Lubbock Tx finally called me today (Sunday) to set up an appointment for my EVO. I went into the store Saturday and they told me they were not doing appointments.
I think I got the first appointment at 9:30. After she tried to sell me a Zagg screen protector, I asked how many they had pre sold and she said 40.
We have 4g here and I would have expected more.

Edit: We were the last to get 3g on 11-09 and one of the first for 4G. I guess they felt sorry for us in the technological wilderness.

I called the P Pines store to find out about booking appointments and I was told that if you didn't pre-order the phone prior to 5-13 that I was guaranteed a phone on june 4th but that I woudl have to pick up the phone first come first serve. Damn I order the phone on 5-14 of course.
